Landed the role of Preeti Sabarwal in Chak De! India (2007) after a friend sent a nonprofessional photo of Ghatge, who had no portfolio at the time, to the film company handling the project. Made her big-screen debut in sports drama Chak De!
India opposite Indian superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Along with her costars, underwent four months of field hockey training, as well as swimming and gym workouts, to prepare for Chak De! India.
