Biography
About Ari Millen
Originally dreamed of becoming a hockey player in the NHL as a youth. Became interested in acting at the age of 17 after a friend asked him to perform in a play at a coffeehouse. Participated in the Theatre Complete program at Queen Elizabeth Collegiate during his senior year in high school.
Competed against his Orphan Black co-star Tatiana Maslany at the National Improv Games while they were both in high school. Performed the role of a soldier named Will in Vern Thiessen's stage production of Vimy, a part that became personal for him after learning his own grandfather, William, was a soldier who fought in the Battle of Vimy Ridge during World War I. In 2008, performed in a stage production of The Veil at the Fajr International Theater Festival in Tehran, Iran.
Participated in a 100-person performance-art project that became the subject of Ryan Hughes' short film Makeout.
