Landed an agent just after finishing at Yale and participating in a showcase where he and fellow acting graduates displayed their talents. Spent about a year auditioning, sometimes as many as three times a day, before getting his first acting job on a TV show. Authored the play Footprints in the Snow.
A member of the Chautauqua Theater Company of Chautauqua, New York, where, among other roles, he played the title character in a production of Macbeth. At Yale, understudied for Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet.
