About Gus Kenworthy

Moved to the U.S. with his family in 1993. Began skiing at the age of 3. Won early recognition as a skier for a short movie he edited and uploaded to the Internet, featuring his skills as an athlete.
Took a year off high school to ski. Competed in over 23 events at the 2012 Freeskiing World Championships, winning in big air and slopestyle. Captured an Olympic silver medal in slopestyle at the 2014 Sochi Games, where he opted to compete for the U.S. over his native Great Britain.
In October 2015, revealed he is gay in an interview with ESPN, becoming the first action-sports star to come out.
