Became interested in music thanks to the music of Michael Jackson, which he exclusively listened to on cassettes until he was in fifth grade, Was a member of the Jewish Student Union at his high school, Jones College Prep High School. Started listening to hip-hop after hearing Kanye West's "Through the Wire," and he went on to buy album on which the song appeared, which was Kanye's debut album, The College Dropout. Recorded his first full-length project, a mixtape entitled 10 Day, in early 2011.
Was named one of the 10 New Chicago Rappers to Watch Out For by Complex magazine in February 2012.
