About John Holmes
The name "John Holmes" was seldom emblazoned on the credits of mainstream Hollywood movies. Nonetheless, Holmes was one of the busiest actors in the business, often appearing in as many as ten pictures per year (he claimed a manifest of 2,000 films). You might know him better by his alias, Johnny B.
Wadd. Holmes was the indefatigable star of many an X-rated film of the 1970s and 1980s. At the height of his fame, Holmes was as well known for his shady off-camera activities -- including drug dealing and alleged involvement in a major California murder case -- as he was for the enormity of his "equipment" (fans insist that he could attain a length of 15 inches) and the scores of women that he'd serviced in the line of duty.
Such was the demand for his talents that Holmes was commanding 3,000 dollars per day at his peak. John Holmes' colorful career was cut short when he died of AIDS at the age of 43.
