Made her debut with the movie Onyong Majikero (1991). First appeared on television in the mini-series Noli me Tangere, aired in 1993. Won the Gawad Urian Best Supporting Actress Award for her role in the Maalaala Mo Kaya: The Movie (1994). Was named as one of Time Magazine's Asian Heroes in 2003 for her efforts to further the cause of ecological awareness. Bagged The Outstanding Women in Nation's Service (TOWNS) Award in 2004 for environmental advocacy. Was a fire victim in 2010, which burned the mezzanine area of her house and amounted to an estimated damage of P100,000. Currently works as a resource speaker and lecturer for environmental education.
