Trivia: Began writing and performing stand up routines at bars in Ermita, Manila, at the age of 19. Was given stage name Vice Ganda by the owner of a comedy bar where he used to perform. His album #Trending sold out two hours after its release in 2014 and became a gold record in less than a week's time. Got adopted as one the honorary classmates of the Philippine Military Academy Marangal (Honorable) Class of 1974. Won the best actor award for his role in Bwakaw (2012) at the 55th Asia Pacific Film Festival, his first international award at the age of 83. Fancies shooting as a hobby, cultivated a taste for the sport in the 1960s. Fondly known as Manoy in the entertainment industry.

Has a number of tattoos on his body, including names of his parents, two younger brothers and an aunt. In 2014, became an active supporter of a PETA campaign to free Mali, an elephant in the Manila Zoo.
