Trivia: Started movie career after her uncle, a cameraman at a film production company, encouraged her to try out in movies. Became the first female representative of the Province of Batangas in May 2016. At age 9, won her first FAMAS Award for her debut movie Trudis Liit (1963). Served nine years as the mayor of Lipa City, Batangas, from 1998 to 2007, becoming the first female mayor of the city. Became the first female governor of the Province of Batangas in 2007 and was re-elected in 2010. Dubbed as the Grand Slam Queen due to the number of Best Actress awards she has won.

Started working as a licensed realtor for Prudential California Realty in Stockton, California after clearing the California State Licensure Examination for Brokers in 2003. Made his comeback in 2008, appearing in an episode of the television series Maalaala Mo Kaya: Taxi.

After being listed as registered voters in San Jose, Camarines Sur, he ran for a congressional seat in the Partido area, but lost to his opponent by more than 2,500 votes.

Hoping to start a new career after marriage, became a licensed realtor in Florida in 2007 and in British Columbia in 2008. Returned to acting in 2011, playing the lead role in the television series Babaeng Hampaslupa. Is the first over-40-years celebrity to be listed in the top 10 sexiest women list compiled by FHM (For Him Magazine) Philippines in 2014. She ranked seventh. An active advocate against cancer; wearing a t-shirt supporting the fight against cancer at a press conference in 2012 attracted a lot of media attention. Became a brand ambassador for Avon in 2012. Was honored by People Asia magazine as one of the 15 Women of Style and Substance in 2014.

Trivia: Started her career with the television show Anna Liza in 1981. Where Love Has Gone (1982) was her debut movie. Made a comeback, making a Cinemalaya debut with the movie Asintado (2014) after a 5-year break from the industry. Won the Best Actress Award for a Foreign Film at the 7th International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema held in London for her performance in the film Asintado (2014). Once almost lost her look after a botched up skin procedure. Restored it with the help of a trusted doctor.
