Gloria Romero (Actor) .. Loleng
Born: December 16, 1933
Birthplace: Denver, Colorado, United States
Trivia: When she was 4, her family decided to visit to her father's parents in Philippines. Her father kept extending their originally year-long-stay and then got trapped in the country when World War II broke out. Used to skip school to watch movies at a theater that was about 11 kilometers away from her house. Started her career in 1950, working as an extra for Premiere Productions and Sampaguita Pictures. Got noticed for her role in the movie Kasintahan sa Pangarap (1951). Got her first speaking part in Ramon Selga (1951), which was her fifth movie. Dr. Jose R. Perez, Sampaguita big boss and Starmaker, gave her the screen name Gloria Romero. Was crowned Princess of Visayas to Queen at the National Fair Maria Teresa Larrazabal in 1954.

Returned to the silver screen with a role in The Mistress (2012), after a 6-year hiatus; received a Luna Best Supporting Actress Award for her performance. Attended the Cannes Film Festival in 2013 for the world premiere of the digitally restored version of her movie Maynila: Sa mga Kuko ng Liwanag (1975).
