Trivia: Started movie career after her uncle, a cameraman at a film production company, encouraged her to try out in movies. Became the first female representative of the Province of Batangas in May 2016. At age 9, won her first FAMAS Award for her debut movie Trudis Liit (1963). Served nine years as the mayor of Lipa City, Batangas, from 1998 to 2007, becoming the first female mayor of the city. Became the first female governor of the Province of Batangas in 2007 and was re-elected in 2010. Dubbed as the Grand Slam Queen due to the number of Best Actress awards she has won.

Joined the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board's (LTFRB) Pink4 Project in 2015; around 60 taxis from his company will cater to rides needed by women, children, senior citizens and persons with disabilities during rush hours. Is a WWF-Philippines Marine Conservation Steward and champions programmes on sustainable fisheries, food security, community-based ecotourism, and biodiversity conservation.

Won a Gawad Urian Best Supporting Actor Award for his performance in the Indie film Rome & Juliet (2007). Is a part of a group called Coverboys who participate in live concerts around the world.

Trivia: Started his career as a singer at the age of 13 and entered into the movie industry at the age of 17. Formed one of the most successful on-screen love team of all time with Nora Aunor in the 1970s and 1980s. They were labelled as Guy and Pip. Received the Best Actor Award from FAMAS for his role in the movie Bilangin Mo Ang Bituin Sa Langit. Won the Gawad Urian Award for Best Supporting Actor in the movie Kahit Buhay Ko. Was recognized for his work in the TV drama Valiente as he won the 1997 PMPC Star Awads for Television Best Drama Actor. Battled stage II cancer in 2014 and went through surgery which was a success.
