Jill Ireland (Actor) .. Catherine
Born: April 24, 1936
Died: May 18, 1990
Birthplace: London, England
Trivia: A dancer from age 12, British performer Jill Ireland became an audience favorite in her teens thanks to her many engagements at the London Palladium. Signed to a Rank Organization contract in 1955, Ireland made her first screen appearance as a ballerina in Oh, Rosalind. In 1957, Ireland married actor David McCallum, with whom she would later appear in several Man From UNCLE TV episodes. Her second husband was action star Charles Bronson, whom she married in 1967. From 1970 onward, Ireland seldom appeared onscreen without her husband; their best collaborative efforts include Hard Times (1975) and From Noon Til Three. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 1984, Ireland underwent a mastectomy, gaining the respect of friends and fans alike for her courage in the face of death: she wrote a book on her recovery, Life Wish, in 1987, and served as chairperson of the National Cancer Society. Ireland then devoted herself to rehabilitating her adopted son Jason McCallum, who had become a drug addict. She penned another book called Life Lines, this one devoted to her struggle to bring her son back to health. His death from an overdose in 1989 weakened Ireland's already precarious physical state. Refusing to surrender to despair, Ireland was busy at work on her third book of reminiscences, Life Times, when she died in 1990. One year later, a TV biopic, Reason for Living: The Jill Ireland Story was telecast, with Jill Clayburgh as Ireland and Lance Henriksen as Charles Bronson (though not so named, as Bronson was dead-set against the film and refused to allow his name to be mentioned onscreen).
Vincent Van Patten (Actor) .. Jamie Wagner
Born: October 17, 1957
Trivia: Vincent Van Patten is the youngest son of actor Dick Van Patten, the brother of actor James Van Patten, and the nephew of actors Joyce Van Patten and Timothy Van Patten. As night follows day, Vincent was destined from the start for a show-business career. Making his professional debut in his preteen years, Van Patten has been seen in such TV-movie productions as Dial Hot Line (1969), The Bravos (1970), James at 15 (1977) and Gidget's Summer Reunion (1985). His theatrical feature credits range from the Disneyesque doings of Charlie and the Angel (1976) to the amiable anarchy of Rock 'N' Roll High School (1979), wherein Van Patten was cast against type as a high school nerd. Thus far, his only weekly TV-series gigs have been as Paul Apple in Apple's Way (1974) and John Karras in Three for the Road (1975); he appeared as the 16-year old son of bionic duo Steve Austin and Jaime Sommers in a 1976 episode of The Six Million Dollar Man, but the anticipated spin-off series never came to fruition. In addition, Vincent Van Patten has been active in the Hanna-Barbera voice over pool, putting words in the mouths of the animated characters on Scooby-Doo and Jeannie, among other programs.
Fausto Tozzi (Actor) .. Cruz
Born: January 01, 1908
Died: December 10, 1978
Trivia: Fausto Tozzi was an Italian actor who occasionally doubled as director or screenwriter. He entered films in 1949 with Under the Sun of Roma. Most of his appearances of the '50s were in Italian or European productions that seldom saw the light of day in English-speaking countries, though he later showed up in a number of Hollywood-financed films which required Italian or Spanish location shoots. In this capacity, Fausto Tozzi played supporting roles in such internationally distributed films as The Wonders of Aladdin (1960) (as the cowardly Grand Vizier), Constantine and the Cross (1961), The Agony and the Ecstacy (1965) (as one of the foremen overseeing the Vatican projects of Michelangelo), The Valachi Papers (1972) (as notorious gangster Albert Anastasia), Crazy Joe (1974) and March or Die (1977).
Ettore Manni (Actor) .. Sheriff
Born: May 06, 1927
Died: July 27, 1979
Trivia: In films from 1951, Ettore Manni distinguished himself in roles of all varieties and sizes. During his first decade on the screen, he was often cast in costume epics, playing Marc Anthony in several films based on the life of Cleopatra and showing up in a number of Hercules pictures. In contemporary productions, he was frequently seen as a priest or law officer. Ettore Manni's final film, City of Women, was released posthumously.
Corrado Gaipa (Actor) .. Padre
Born: March 13, 1924
Diana Lorys (Actor) .. Indian
Born: October 20, 1940
Marcel Bozzuffi (Actor) .. Maral
Born: October 28, 1929
Died: February 02, 1988
Trivia: Marcel Bozzuffi, a French actor of neurotic mien and receding hairline, was a familiar presence in numerous international films. Some of Bozzuffi's more distinguished credits include Costa-Gavras' Z (1969), The Lady in the Car with the Glasses and Gun (1970), and La Grande Bourgeoisie (1977). He gained American prominence thanks to his brief association with an Oscar-winning film. Marcel Bozzuffi played Pierre Nicoli, one of the scuzzier associates of drug kingpin Fernando Rey in The French Connection (1971).
José Nieto (Actor) .. Mexican
Born: January 01, 1902
Died: January 01, 1982
Trivia: For nearly four decades, Spanish actor Jose Nieto was a major star in his native country. Though film titles like El Lazzarillo de Torres and La Senora de Fatimas are unfamiliar to American audiences, rest assured that these were favorites among Nieto's Spanish fans. The actor's English-speaking appearances were limited to supporting and character roles in American and British films shot in Spain. Among Jose Nieto's films in this latter category were Alexander the Great (1956), A Farewell to Arms (1957), Solomon and Sheba (1959) (as Ahab) and Dr. Zhivago (1965) (as a Russian priest!)
