About this Broadcast
-

Lauren Bacall narrates this profile of friend Louis Bromfield, who won the Pulitzer Prize for his novel "Early Autumn" in 1926 at the age of 29; and went onto write screenplays for films starring Humphrey Bogart, James Cagney and Mae West. In time, however, he became dissastified with his life and returned to working on his farm, Malabar. Included: rare audio recordings and archival film footage; and comments from his daughters and Max Drake, Malabar's first farm manager.
