Charles Dutton (Actor) .. Roc Emerson
Born: January 30, 1951
Birthplace: Baltimore, Maryland, United States
Trivia: Born January 30, 195, Charles Dutton attended the Yale School of Drama, and in 1983 he first appeared off-Broadway in Richard III. Before long he was delivering Tony-calibre performances in such Broadway productions as Ma Rainey's Black Bottom and The Piano Lesson. In films since 1986's No Mercy, the forceful, thunder-voiced Dutton has been seen in movies ranging from the mirth-provoking Crocodile Dundee 2 to the spine-chilling Alien 3. In 1991, Charles Dutton began a long TV run as the star of the Fox Network sitcom Roc.Dutton became an actor while serving a seven and a half-year prison sentence for stabbing a man during a street fight. While in prison, Dutton was stabbed in the neck with an ice pick during a fight with another inmate. The incident proved to be the turning point in Dutton's life when he refused to retaliate. Shortly thereafter, he became interested in drama and while serving his sentence completed a two-year college degree course. Upon his release from prison, Dutton was admitted into the Yale School of Drama. There he studied under playwright August Wilson and director Lloyd Richards. In 2000, Dutton directed The Corner, an acclaimed miniseries from HBO adapted from David Simon and Ed Burns' novel "The Corner: A Year in the Life of an Inner-City Neighborhood". The Corner won several awards, including an Emmy for Best Miniseries, and Dutton himself was honored for his direction. This would not be the last Emmy he received; the actor won Emmy Awards in 2002 and 2003 for supporting roles in televisiond dramas The Practice and Without a Trace. In 2003, Dutton starred in the made-for-TV drama D.C. Sniper: 23 Days of Fear, and continued to make appearances on popular television shows including The L Word, The Sopranos, and House, M.D. Dutton joined the cast of Threshold in 2005. While the CBS science fiction series gained a loyal following, the show was short-lived. The actor went on to appear in filmmaker John Sayles' 2007 drama Honeydripper, which follows the owner of a blues club that was revitalized by a young electric guitarist.
Rocky Carroll (Actor) .. Joey Emerson
Born: July 08, 1963
Birthplace: Cincinnati, Ohio, United States
Trivia: A graduate of the famous School for the Performing Arts, actor Rocky Carroll continued his studies at the Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University before moving to New York in the mid-'80s to try his hand at a professional acting career. He soon found success with the Shakespeare on Broadway series, and cultivated a flourishing career on-stage. Carroll also branched into screen acting, with recurring roles on Roc and Chicago Hope, and in movies like Crimson Tide, Born on the Fourth of July, and Yes Man.
Badja Djola (Actor) .. Long
Born: April 09, 1948
Tone Loc (Actor) .. Ronnie
Born: March 03, 1966
Trivia: Ex-gang member Tone-Loc is probably best known for his hit 1989 rap songs "Wild Thing" and "Funky Cold Medina" than for his acting career. Nevertheless, Loc was not welcomed into the hip-hop community, despite his debut Loc-ed After Dark being only the second rap album to top the Billboard charts. After the poor performance of his second album, 1991's Cool Hand Loc, Loc turned his attentions to acting. He appeared several times in Charles S. Dutton's sitcom Roc, and also had supporting roles in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Heat, and Titan A.E., among others. Born Anthony Smith on March 3, 1966, in Los Angeles, Loc still lives in the city of his birth. He spends his free time hanging out with his children and, as he told the Iowa State Daily in 1999, finding ways to make money. He shouldn't have much trouble with the latter -- the rapper/actor put out a new album and tour in 2001, and took on a starring role in Thieves, a television series starring John Stamos.
Darryl Sivad (Actor) .. Sly
Conni Marie Brazelton (Actor) .. Reporter
Born: June 28, 1955
Dick Anthony Williams (Actor)
Born: August 09, 1938
Trivia: African-American supporting actor, onscreen from the 60s.'
Clifton Powell (Actor) .. Andre
Born: March 16, 1956
Trivia: Few actors possess the range required to craft some of the most colorful villains ever committed to celluloid before turning around to portray such a benevolent and beloved leader as Martin Luther King Jr., and it's a testament to Clifton Powell's skills as a performer that he could be equally believable doing both. It was during the early '90s that Powell first began to rise to prominence in television and film, with standout roles in Bill Duke's Deep Cover and In the Heat of the Night preceding a pair of memorable supporting roles for the Hughes Brothers in Menace II Society and Dead Presidents. Though Powell would continue to appear in features, it was on the small screen that he gained most of his exposure in the early years. After gradually climbing the credits on such shows as Murder, She Wrote, The Jamie Foxx Show, and NYPD Blue, Powell would leave an indelible mark on viewers with his thoughtful portrayal of Martin Luther King Jr. in director Charles Burnett's Selma, Lord, Selma. With versatile, everyman looks that were something of a blessing and a curse, Powell quickly established himself as an actor capable of truly disappearing into his characters -- sometimes to a fault. While a slew of roles on screens big and small kept Powell a considerably busy man in the mid-'90s, later roles in such efforts as Lockdown, Civil Brand, and Never Die Alone proved that his persistence, talent, and dedication were beginning to pay off. In 2004, Powell and the cast of the wildly popular biopic Ray would be honored with a Screen Actor's Guild nomination, and though they didn't take home the prize it was obvious Powell was finally on the verge of breaking big. His dark turn in the T.D. Jakes screen-adaptation Woman Thou Art Loosed was followed by a series of small-screen appearances in House, M.D., CSI, and Day Break, and in 2007 alone Powell's name would be attached to no less than eight films being prepared for the big screen .
