Clifton Collins Jr. (Actor) .. Cesar Faz
Born: June 16, 1970
Birthplace: Los Angeles, California, United States
Trivia: Distinguished by his versatility and uncanny ability to immerse himself in the characters he portrays, filmgoers may recall Clifton Collins Jr. from his role as the intimidating thug Cesar in 187 (1997) or from his numerous other roles in such films as the Hughes brothers' Dead Presidents (1995) and Steven Soderbergh's acclaimed Traffic (2000). A native Angeleno, Collins Jr. is the grandson of actor Pedro Gonzalez. One of the first Mexicans to find Hollywood success, Gonzalez appeared alongside John Wayne in various Westerns and war films. Sometimes credited as Clifton Gonzalez Gonzalez in honor of his grandfather's name, Collins Jr.'s range has found him work in a rich variety of films throughout the 1990s both in television and film. Other roles in The Replacement Killers and Disney's The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit (both 1998) showed great promise for a young actor on the verge of stardom heading into the new millennium. Supporting roles in such wide-release features as The Last Castle, and The Rules of Attraction found the young up-and-comer slowly gaining the momentum to set an enduring career in motion, and in 2004 Collins appeared opposite hot-property Eion Bailey in the thriller Mindhunters and the alcoholism-themed comedy drama Glory Days. That same year also found Collins taking a role in director Troy Duffy's Boondock II: All Saints Day - the eagerly anticipated follow-up to his 1999 cult hit The Boondock Saints.
Cheech Marin (Actor) .. Padre Estaban
Born: July 13, 1946
Birthplace: Los Angeles, California, United States
Trivia: The son of a Los Angeles police officer, American actor/director Richard "Cheech" Marin earned his nickname through his fondness for the Chicano food, specialty cheecharone. An excellent student (if something of a class cutup), Marin entered California State University, only to drop out and hightail it to Canada to avoid the draft. While working as an improvisational comedian with Vancouver's City Work troupe, Marin teamed with Tommy Chong; the Hispanic/Asian duo created the characters of Cheech and Chong, a pair of zoned-out dopers ever in search of the "perfect joint." On the strength of their bestselling record albums, Cheech and Chong were signed for the inexpensive comedy film Up in Smoke (1978), which wound up as one of Warner Bros.' highest-grossing films (not to mention one of its highest, period). As the drug culture lost its momentum, so did the film career of Cheech and Chong, with each of the team's subsequent films making less money than its predecessor. By the time C & C headlined the atrocious The Corsican Brothers (1984), the jig was up. Cheech and Chong split up in 1984 (though they remained friends) and went off to their own projects. While it was Chong who directed many of the team's features, Marin sat in the director's chair for the best of his post-team projects, the 1987 film Born in East L.A, inspired by Cheech's own parody music video. Marin's starring film is Shrimp on the Barbie (1990) contained no drug jokes and fewer laughs (an indication of its quality is the fact that the director had his name removed from the credits in favor of the pseudonymous "Alan Smithee"). Lately regarded as an elder statesman of the counterculture, Marin has kept busy with cameo roles, cartoon voice-overs (Oliver and Company, Ferngully, The Lion King), and a brief stint as a costar of the 1992 TV sitcom "Golden Palace." In 1996, he began co-starring opposite Don Johnson in the television drama Nash Bridges. Around this time he began a fruitful collaboration with independent filmmaker Robert Rodriguez. Marin had a part in Desperado, and played multiple characters in the vampire film From Dusk 'til Dawn for the Austin based maverick. Marin was cast as Kevin Costner's best friend in the golf comedy Tin Cup in 1996. The beginning of the next decade brought Marin an unexpected new audience as he began a series of humorous appearances in family films and lent his vocal talents to a number of animated films. He appeared in all three segments of Rodriguez's Spy Kids series, did vocal work in Good Boy, and voiced one of the Cars in Pixar's film. He also played small parts in John Sayles Silver City, and Bob Dylan's Masked & Anonymous.
Emilie De Ravin (Actor) .. Frankie Stevens
Born: December 27, 1981
Birthplace: Mount Eliza, Victoria, Australia
Trivia: Born in 1981 in Australia, Emilie de Ravin trained as a ballerina before shifting her focus to acting. Her first onscreen role was as one of the leads on the syndicated TV version of The Beastmaster in 1999. But the stint proved shortlived when de Ravin accepted a starring spot on a network series, the cult-hit sci-fi show Roswell. After that series bowed in 2002, de Ravin could be seen in a few TV guest roles and in a made-for-TV remake of Carrie. But in 2004, she landed the part that would elevate her to the next level of stardom when she was cast as the young single mother Claire Littleton on ABC's hit mindbender Lost. While appearing on Lost, de Ravin also began to pursue a career on the big screen with roles in such prominent films as the horror remake The Hills Have Eyes and the acclaimed indie noir homage Brick. The actress remained a popular character on Lost and worked on the show until its conclusion in 2010. The same year she co-starred in Operation: Endgame, a comedy thriller following two groups of elite assassins as they fight amongst themselves. In 2012, she guest-starred on the first season of Once Upon a Time as Belle, and was upped to a series regular the following season.
Bruce McGill (Actor) .. Mr. Tanner
Born: July 11, 1950
Birthplace: San Antonio, Texas, United States
Trivia: Husky American actor Bruce McGill made his film debut in Citizen's Band (1978), but it was his next film role, frat-brat "D Day" in National Lampoon's Animal House, that gained him a following. McGill repeated his D-Day characterization in the spin-off TV series Delta House (1979), then co-starred with David Hasselhoff in the 1980 weekly-TV version of the 1977 theatrical football comedy Semi-Tough. He went on to play a string of brusque authority types in films (Cliffhangers) and television (MacGiver, Live Shot). Fans of the fantasy series Quantum Leap (1989-93) may recall McGill's occasional guest shots, which ranged from mildly eccentric to truly weird. In 1987, Bruce McGill enjoyed one of his few feature-film leading roles in Waiting for the Moon. But it wasn't until the 1990s that casting directors really began to utilize McGill's unique range, and though he never won any awards, he shifted between film (A Perfect World, Timecop, The Insider) and television (Babylon 5, Star Trek: Voyager) with the skill of a seasoned pro. Any genre was fair game, and all were tackled with equal aplomb. At the dawn of the 2000s McGill seemed to shift his focus toward feature films, with roles in Ali, The Sum of All Fears, and Collateral helping to make him both a Michael Mann regular, and one of those welcomed faces that seems to turn up everywhere. Still TV just seemed to be in McGill's blood and after lending his voice to both Family Guy and The Cleveland Show he could be seen as a regular on the TNT detective series Rizzoli and Isles.
Moises Arias (Actor) .. Mario Ontiveros
Born: April 18, 1994
Birthplace: New York, New York, United States
Trivia: Actor Moisés Arias entered movies during his preteen years, specializing in colorful, high-energy characterizations, often of a Hispanic nature. He is perhaps best known for his ongoing portrayal of Rico, the pint-sized ladykiller and surf-shop proprietor on the blockbuster Disney Channel series Hannah Montana, a role he reprised in the 2009 big-screen feature version. Additional projects include a small supporting role in the Mexican wrestling comedy Nacho Libre (2007) opposite Jack Black, and another supporting turn in director William Dear's period baseball yarn The Perfect Game (2008).
Jake T. Austin (Actor) .. Angel Macias
Born: December 03, 1994
Birthplace: New York, New York, United States
Trivia: New York City native Jake T. Austin entered filmdom as a preteen actor; like many who achieved stardom in the 2000s before the age of 13, Austin owed much of his celebrity to The Disney Channel, whose producers made him a veritable fixture on many of their series. Austin's star shone particularly brightly with his role as mischievous, superpower-laden Max Russo on the Disney fantasy series Wizards of Waverly Place. Austin would also appear in movies, like The Perfect Game (2008), Hotel for Dogs, and New Year's Eve.
Jansen Panettiere (Actor) .. Enrique Suarez
Born: September 25, 1994
Trivia: The younger brother of actress and screen heartthrob Hayden Panettiere (Ally McBeal), Jansen Panettiere began accumulating acting credits as a child star a half-decade after his older sibling. Following a brief assignment working on the pilot of the popular Faith Ford/Kelly Ripa sitcom Hope & Faith (2003), Panettiere joined many of his young colleagues in Hollywood by signing on to do a project with the iconic Disney Channel, opposite his sister: the family-friendly military drama Tiger Cruise (2004). He voiced the character of Young Rodney in the 2005 Fox Animation feature Robots (2005), then signed up for another animated outing, voicing Truman X in the Cartoon Network series The X's (2005). In 2008, Panettiere starred opposite Clifton Collins Jr. and Cheech Marin in the period sports comedy The Perfect Game.
Patricia Manterola (Actor) .. Maria
David Koechner (Actor) .. Charlie 'Mac' Tompkins
Born: August 24, 1962
Birthplace: Tipton, Missouri, United States
Trivia: Though he would remain one of the comedy world's best-kept secrets through the later half of the 1990s, improvisational comic-turned-actor David Koechner, (born August 24, 1962) later made a successful transition from SNL and Late Night With Conan O'Brien funnyman to supporting feature player roles when word of his talent spread, thanks to stellar supporting parts in such wide-release films as A Guy Thing and Anchorman. The Tipton, MO, native studied political science at the University of Missouri, with a subsequent career in the family business (manufacturing turkey coops) narrowly averted by a post-college move to Chicago. It was there that Koechner attempted to master his comic skills under the tutelage of improv master Del Close, with further studies at the Windy City's ImprovOlympic cementing the skills of the up-and-coming talent. A subsequent stint at Chicago's Second City Theater led to Koechner's lucky break when he was whisked away by SNL creator Lorne Michaels to become a player in the long-running weekly comedy mainstay. Though he would remain with SNL for merely one season, Koechner continued to impress on the small screen as a performer on Late Night with Conan O'Brien in the 1996-1997 season. As his reputation continued to grow due to appearances on such popular shows as Mad About You and Dharma & Greg, Koechner also made an impression in features thanks to small but memorable roles in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, Man on the Moon, and My Boss's Daughter. Though he would continue to work in minor capacity on the small screen, Koechner seemed to be focusing on features at this point in his career, with a turn as a chauvinistic sportscaster in the 2004 Will Ferrell comedy Anchorman offering what was perhaps his most substantial feature performance to date. Koechner played a tobacco lobbyist in 2005's media satire Thankyou for Smoking, and reunited with Will Ferrell to for a supporting role in Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby in 2006. In 2008 he joined the cast of Get Smart, the big-screen adaptation of Mel Brooks' popular 1960s-era comedy series, and proved himself no stranger to camp in Final Destination 5 (2011) and Piranha 3DD (2012).
Louis Gossett Jr. (Actor) .. Cool Papa Bell
Born: May 27, 1936
Died: March 29, 2024
Birthplace: Brooklyn, New York, United States
Trivia: Louis Gossett Jr. ranks as one of the most respected African-American actors of stage, screen, and television. Tall, lanky, and bald-pated, Gossett was a basketball player in high school until a leg injury benched him and his interest turned toward acting. In 1953, at the age of 17, Gossett made his Broadway debut in Take a Giant Step, and ended up with a Donaldson Award for the year's best newcomer. Though working steadily on stage and television, Gossett was still interested in basketball. The New York Knicks drafted him out of college in 1958 and he played with them briefly before returning to performing. In 1961, Gossett reprised on film the role he played in the theatrical production of A Raisin in the Sun. It was a well-regarded beginning, and he continued to appear on stage and television, and beginning in 1967, the occasional feature film or television movie. During this early period, he also occasionally sang in nightclubs. Gossett did not become a bona fide star until his Emmy-winning performance in the landmark television miniseries Roots (1977). His career picked up considerably after that. In 1982, Gossett earned a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for playing a deceptively heartless drill sergeant in An Officer and a Gentleman. That same year, he also starred in another television series as the wise mentor to an alien prince in The Powers of Matthew Star (1982-1983). After the success of An Officer and a Gentleman, Gossett reprised his roll as the tough sergeant, albeit using different character names, in several films, including the Iron Eagle series, The Punisher (1989), and others. But though he makes an excellent rough guy, Gossett has showed a willingness to let his softer side show through in such made-for-TV movies as Sudie and Simpson (1990).

In the grand tradition of such Hollywood character actors as Percy Helton, Dick Wessel and Louis Jean Heydt, Walter is in the "who is that?" category--familiar yet anonymous--and has developed a cult following amongst cinema buffs. The stage-trained Walters can be seen in such films as Repo Man (1984) City Slickers (1991), Pacific Heights (1992), and Philadelphia (1993).
