Started his racing career in childhood. Made his stock-car debut in 2000, driving for Penske Racing in the ARCA Series and making two late-season NASCAR Winston Cup appearances. In 2002, won his first-ever Winston Cup race (New Hampshire) and claimed victory at the All-Star Race. Bested Jimmie Johnson for Rookie of the Year honors. Finished second by one point in the 2014 Sprint Cup standings on the strength of 15 top-10 finishes. Enjoys driving and working on his collection of vintage cars.
