Trivia: Moved from Trinidad to Newcastle, England with his family following his father's death in 1958. Began working at the Flora Robson Playhouse in Newcastle at age 17. Trivia: Lived in Mumbai, India, for eighteen months modelling after signing with an Icelandic casting agency when she was a teenager. Moved from Iceland to London in 2008, gradually developing a British accent with the help of a speech coach at the Drama Centre London. Played Maria in a production of Cross Purpose at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland in 2009. In 2013, finding it difficult to obtain work in London, returned to Iceland to work in a TV series on the west coast near a glacier supposed locally to be a source of Earth's energy; she returned to London two months later and landed the role of Elizabeth in Poldark. To help with her role in Poldark, she had harp and horse riding lessons. Is part of the Theatre Renegade company and starred in their first production Scarlett in 2015 at the Southwark Playhouse in London; the play was partially funded by a Kickstarter campaign. Credits her good English to Disney films, Friends and to the dialect coach at the London Drama Centre; she also trained in classical theatre and has played many Shakespearean roles.
