Tyler Layton (Actor) .. Holly Rawlins
Born: May 06, 1968
Nick Kokotakis (Actor) .. Michael Price
Stephanie Faracy (Actor) .. Gloria
Trivia: Lead actress Stephanie Faracy first appeared onscreen in the late '70s.
Ben Murphy (Actor) .. Grant
Born: March 06, 1942
Birthplace: Jonesboro, Arkansas
Trivia: Born in Arkansas and raised in Memphis and Chicago, American actor Ben Murphy worked his way through college by driving a pie truck. Eventually he'd attend eight colleges, from the University of Illinois to the University of the Americas in Mexico City, where by his own admission his sole interests were acting and womanizing. A stint at the Pasadena Playhouse led to Murphy's first film role, a one line bit in The Graduate (1967). He was signed to a Universal contract in 1967, appearing in several of the studios' series, including as a semiregular hitch on The Name of the Game. When a midseason cancellation on ABC in 1970 required Universal to come up with a quickie replacement, the studio slapped together a derivation of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid titled Alias Smith and Jones, with Ben Murphy and Pete Deuel in the leads. Much was made at the time of Murphy's resemblance to Paul Newman (one of the stars of Butch Cassidy), though everyone involved with Alias Smith and Jones pooh-poohed the idea that Murphy's looks alone won him the part. After Smith and Jones left the air, Murphy tried his luck with feature films, with results ranging from the tolerable to the tepid: Heat Wave (1974), Sidecar Racers (1975) and Time Walker (1982) were typical titles in the Murphy manifest. He periodically returned to television, where work was more satisfying if not more secure. Ben Murphy was a regular on a whole slew of short-lived TV weeklies, including Griff (1973), The Gemini Man (1976) (for which Murphy dropped several pounds and, it is said, his highly abrasive attitude), The Chisholms (1979), The Winds of War (1983), Lottery$ (1984), Berrenger's (1985), and Dirty Dozen: The Series (1988).
Billy Warlock (Actor)
Born: March 26, 1960
Trivia: Though tagged by one publication as "one of prime-time TV's great new faces" when he joined the cast of NBC's Baywatch in the late '80s, Billy Warlock had -- by that point -- already eked out an eminently successful career in multiple venues, including big-screen features (Halloween II, 1981); soap operas (Days of Our Lives, as Frankie Brady), and prime-time situation comedy. Born in Gardena, CA, Warlock achieved his big break thanks to television guru Garry Marshall, who hired him for a guest-starring role in the Robin Williams/Pam Dawber sitcom Mork & Mindy. The positive working relationship with Marshall led, in turn, to a memorable one-season stint as Flip Phillips, the younger brother of English teacher Roger Phillips (Ted McGinley) on the blockbuster ABC sitcom Happy Days (ca. 1982-1983). Warlock joined the cast of Baywatch in 1989; thanks to his presence on that program, he achieved enormous popularity and evolved into a major sex symbol, and in fact remained with the series for one season after it went into syndication in 1991. In subsequent years, Warlock opted to focus more of his attention on soaps, enjoying lengthy runs on daytime dramas including As the World Turns, The Young and the Restless, and a brief reprise of his Brady role on Days in 2005 and 2006.
Laura Harring (Actor)
Born: March 03, 1964
Birthplace: Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico
Trivia: Frequently drawing comparisons to such glamorous Hollywood starlets as Ava Gardner and Rita Hayworth, former Miss U.S.A. turned sultry screen siren Laura Elena Harring had been acting in features for over a decade when she entranced audiences with her enigmatic performance in David Lynch's surreal mystery Mulholland Dr. Born in Los Mochis, Sinaola, Mexico, Harring relocated to San Antonio, TX, with her mother and two sisters at age 11. Traveling abroad to study at Switzerland's Aiglon College at the age of 16, the worldly student later spent time doing such unglamorous work as digging ditches and planting gardens in India as a social worker. Though she would spend a brief period backpacking throughout the world following her exploits in Switzerland and India, it wasn't long before Harring returned to her family in Texas and made the fateful decision to enter the Miss El Paso contest. After becoming the first Latina to win the title of Miss U.S.A. in 1985 at the age of 21, Harring entered the world of royalty with her marriage to Count Carl Edward Von Bismark. Shortly after her marriage, Countess Harring would pursue her love of drama at the London Academy of Performing Arts. Refining her talents on the stages of Los Angeles' downtown theater arts district, the Countess made her screen debut as the bride of Santa Anna in the 1987 made-for-television film The Alamo: Thirteen Days to Glory. Harring alternated between television and film in the following years, later igniting the screen with her passion for tango in 1990's The Forbidden Dance. Amicably separated from her husband shortly thereafter, the emerging actress focused her career and continued to alternate between the small and silver screens with roles in Exit to Eden (1994), The Elian Gonzalez Story, and Little Nicky (both 2000) before hitting her stride under the assured direction of eccentric director Lynch the following year. Originally conceived as a television pilot, Mulholland Dr. was rejected by the networks before being retooled into a feature that fascinated audiences and critics at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival, where it earned a Best Director award. Drawing much attention at the 2002 Oscars for her pricey footwear, the now in-demand starlet continued her Tinsel Town ascent with a role in the Denzel Washington hostage drama John Q. the following year.
