Richard Dawson (Actor)

Trivia: Trained in British repertory, actor Richard Dawson achieved prominence in the late '50s as a cabaret and TV comedian. Arriving in the U.S. in 1961, Dawson made the variety-show rounds with an act consisting largely of quickie celebrity impressions. One of his first acting assignment was as Peter Sellers' takeoff Racy Tracy Rattigan in a 1963 episode of The Dick Van Dyke Show. A solid dramatic role as a military prisoner in King Rat led to a longer stint as resourceful cockney POW Peter Newkirk on the popular sitcom Hogan's Heroes (1965-1971). After appearing as a regular on Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In and The New Dick Van Dyke Show, Dawson settled into his true niche as a wisecracking game-show host. From 1976 through 1985, he emceed TV's The Family Feud, winning an Emmy Award for his troubles (he later resumed his Family Feud hosting chores in the 1994 syndicated version). Fittingly enough, Richard Dawson's first feature-film role after Feud was as the smarmy host of a futuristic life-or-death quiz program in Arnold Schwarzenegger's The Running Man (1989).

Pippa Scott (Actor)

Trivia: The daughter of playwright/screenwriter Allan Scott, actress Pippa Scott attended Radcliffe and UCLA before training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Scott made her Broadway bow in Child of Fortune, then worked steadily in the various live TV anthologies of the 1950s. Signed to a Warner Bros. contract in 1956, she made her first screen appearance as Lucy Edwards in the John Ford classic The Searchers. Alternating between TV, films and Broadway throughout the 1950s and 1960s, Scott amassed an impressive resumé, ranging from a starring assignment in the New York company of John Osborne's Look Back in Anger to recurring roles on such TV series as Mr. Lucky (1959-60) and The Virginian (1962-63 season only). Segueing gracefully into character roles in the 1970s, Scott was seen as the nursery-teacher lady friend of seasoned cop Jack Warden on the 1976 TV weekly Jigsaw John. Pippa Scott served as producer of the 1989 film Life on the Edge.

Trivia: Anjanette Comer, as a teenager, was one of those hyperkinetic types involved in every extracurricular activity available, including basketball, cheerleading and beauty contests. After attending Baylor University for a short period, 18-year-old Anjanette came to California. She planned to enroll in either UCLA or the Pasadena Playhouse; the Playhouse won. Toting up lots of TV credits on shows like Gunsmoke, Arrest and Trial, Anjanette made her first film appearance in 1965's Quick Before it Melts (1965), where she was exotically cast as a Maori girl. She then landed one of the most bizarre assignments of the 1965-66 season: in the jet-black comedy The Loved One, she played Aimee Thanatogenos, who commits suicide by embalming herself! Anjanette's movie activity dropped off in 1970 after she played Ruth in the film version of John Updike's Rabbit Run (1970); she later claimed she let her love life interfere with her work. Anjanette Comer's most recent films include Fire Sale (1977) and the made-for-TV The Long Summer of George Adams (1983).
