Did not receive his first college recruiting letter until the summer before his senior year. Ran drills on sand dunes of Manhattan Beach in the off-season to improve his fitness during college. Named Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year as a UCLA sophomore. Made the NBA Western Conference All-Star team in 2011 and 2012 and was on the NBA All-Rookie first team in 2008-09. In March 2009, became the first rookie to record a triple-double since Chris Paul in 2006. Recorded the fifth Game 7 triple-double in NBA playoff history as Oklahoma City defeated Memphis in the 2011 conference semis. Was a member of the U.S. basketball team that won gold in the 2012 Olympics in London. Became the Marketing Creative Director for True Religion for the Spring 2015 campaign, "Be So Bold." Named NBA All-Star Game MVP in 2015 and 2016. Wears KB3 wristbands to honor his former high-school teammate, Khelcey Barrs, who passed away while they were still in school.
