Trivia: The son of a prominent archaeologist/museum director, American actor Ted Danson grew up near the Navajo reservation in Arizona. He played basketball while at Kent School Connecticut, and then moved on to Stanford University. It was in the process of getting acquainted with an aspiring actress at Stanford that Danson found himself attending his first audition-- and by years' end had transferred to the drama department at Carnegie Tech. Danson's first steady TV work was as a slimy villain on the NBC soap opera Somerset. Shortly afterward, the actor attained his first film role, as a murdered cop, in The Onion Field (1978). Born Theresa Lee Farrell Grussendorf in Cedar Rapids, IA, Farrell moved to New York City to become a model. During her several years as a cover girl, she also studied acting and landed her first major role as an actress by playing a model on the short-lived TV series Paper Dolls (1984). While she continued her acting studies, Farrell had a small role in the Rodney Dangerfield comedy Back to School (1986) and appeared in the TV movies Beverly Hills Madam (1986) and The Deliberate Stranger (1986), a well-received docudrama on serial killer Ted Bundy. After she starred in the horror sequel Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth (1992), Farrell attracted a following as Lt. Commander Jadzia Dax on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993-1998). His big break would come three years later, with his debut as Sgt. Tackleberry in Police Academy, launching a lasting character in a series that would span nearly a decade and six sequels. Keeping frequent work in television through the course of appearing in films such as Guarding Tess (1994) and The Brady Bunch Movie (1995), Graf held recurring roles in the popular Beauty and the Beast, High Tide, and later in the highly praised White House drama The West Wing. Graf also became involved with such Star Trek spin-offs as Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager.As a Hollywood representative of the Screen Actors Guild, Graf won the respect of his fellow actors through his tireless efforts to ensure their fair treatment in the vast and intimidating Hollywood system.
