To commemorate fallen soldiers from WWI, the Women's Institute of this rural village raised funds to build Blyth Memorial Hall. Falling into disrepair over the years, the hall was revitalized in 1975 when local theatre aficionados founded The Blyth Festival to showcase the best in Canadian theatre. Today, Blyth is a rural Ontario success story where theatre has become synonymous with the town's identity.
