About this Broadcast

Using a CGI chimpanzee to represent British pop star Robbie Williams, this biopic tells the story of his rise to fame from a working-class family. Starting with his upbringing, bridging over into his time with boy band Take That and then his solo career, Williams voices his characterization - a combination of statements he's made about himself being at some times less evolved than his fellow man and at others a performing monkey.

Robbie Williams (Actor) .. Robbie Williams
Born: February 13, 1974
Birthplace: Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England
Trivia: Became a member of Take That after his mother found an advertisement looking for young talent to be part of a new boy band. Was the youngest member of the group, at the mere age of sixteen. Williams quit the band in 1995 after internal conflict and a desire to try new material as a solo artist. The first seven solo albums of his career all reached number one in the UK album charts, as well as achieving seven number one singles as a solo artist. In 2002 Williams signed a four album deal with EMI Records, worth 80 million pounds, a feat only second to Michael Jackson. Entered the Guinness Book of World Records in 2005 for selling 1.6 million tickets for his world tour in a single day. Alongside close friend Jonathan Wilkes, established and organised the charity football event, Soccer Aid, to raise money for UNICEF. Fifteen years after leaving Take That, Williams announced that he had re-joined the band. In November 2010 the band released the album Progress, which became the second fastest selling album in UK history. Patron of children's charity, the Donna Louise Trust, providing respite and care to terminally ill and life-limited children. Is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, having sold 75 million records worldwide. In 2014, was awarded the freedom of his home town of Stoke-on-Trent, and had a tourist trail created and streets named in his honour. In 2018, was a judge on the fifteenth series of The X Factor in the UK, alongside his wife Ayda Field.

Steve Pemberton (Actor) .. Peter
Born: September 01, 1967
Birthplace: Blackburn, Lancashire, England
Trivia: British actor Steve Pemberton first made his mark as a regular player on what was -- even by the standards of English comedy -- certainly one of the strangest sitcoms to run in the U.K. during the late '90s and early 2000s. The League of Gentlemen unfurled in the eccentric English hamlet of Royston Vasey, where countless cruel absurdities and bizarre situations transpired. The program required Pemberton and his co-stars, Reece Shearsmith and Mark Gatiss, to each play a varied number of roles, à la Monty Python or Kids in the Hall; it lasted for several seasons and clocked in as a considerable hit, making British audiences fully aware not only of Pemberton's presence, but of his apparent fearlessness as an actor. As if underscoring his own versatility, Pemberton concurrently performed in straight-faced dramas as well, such as the 2004 Churchill: The Hollywood Years, the 2005 Lassie (as Eddie Hynes), and, most visibly, Woody Allen's cutthroat British drama Match Point, as a detective. In 2007, Pemberton hearkened back to breezy English comedy with his neat comic turn as a vicar in Mr. Bean's Holiday.

She has starred in the British TV series Wackers (1975) and Gone to Seed (1992), and has made a number of conspicuous film appearances since her 1982 screen debut in Kipperbang. American TV viewers will remember Steadman as Mrs. Marlowe in the wildly eccentric Dennis Potter miniseries The Singing Detective.
