Onslow Stevens (Actor) .. Mr. Fisher
Born: March 29, 1902
Died: January 05, 1977
Trivia: Onslow Stevens was the son of character actor Housley Stevenson who, in turn, was the son of a prominent British artist. Stevens' own career in the arts began in 1928, when he was featured in the Pasadena Playhouse production Under the Roof. To believe his publicity, Stevens was "accidentally" hired for film work in 1932 when he agreed to help an actress friend get through her screen test. At first a leading man, Stevens soon established himself in character roles, often cast as saturnine villains -- or, as in the case of films like House of Dracula (1945), he played weak-willed men with the capacity for villainy. From 1952 through 1955, Stevens played the kindly Mr. Fisher on the religious TV dramatic series This Is the Life. Onslow Stevens spent his last years in a nursing home, where, according to his wife, he was persecuted and brutalized by his fellow patients; he died under mysterious circumstances at the age of 75.
Nan Boardman (Actor) .. Mrs. Fisher
Randy Stuart (Actor) .. Emily Fisher
Born: October 24, 1924
Died: July 20, 1996
Trivia: Supporting and occasional leading actress Randy Stuart was a regular on television during the '50s and in feature films of the '40s and '50s, including The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957) in which she played the title character's loving wife. Stuart was born in Iola, Kansas, the daughter of parents involved in vaudeville. When she was old enough, Stuart joined them on stage. In 1943, she joined Fox Studios and was relegated to parts in films ranging from Whirlpool, to I Was a Male War Bride (both 1949), to All About Eve (1950), to New Day at Sundown (1957). Some of her notable television roles include that of the "Hubba-Hubba girl" on The Jack Carson Show and as the wife of Alan Hale, Jr. on Biff Baker U.S.A. Between 1952 and 1956, Stuart played Emily Fisher on the drama This Is the Life. She was also a regular on the short-lived The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp (1959-60). On Dragnet, Stuart occasionally played the wife of Harry "Joe Friday" Morgan. Her additional television credits include appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show, Cheyenne and Cavalcade of America.
Michael Hall (Actor) .. Peter Fisher
David Kasday (Actor) .. Freddie Fisher
Born: May 07, 1942
Forrest Taylor (Actor) .. Grandpa Fisher
Born: January 01, 1883
Died: February 19, 1965
Trivia: Veteran American character actor Forrest Taylor is reputed to have launched his film career in 1915. His screen roles in both the silent and sound era seldom had any consistency of size; he was apt to show up in a meaty character part one week, a seconds-lasting bit part the next. With his banker's moustache and brusque attitude, Taylor was most often cast as a businessman or a lawyer, sometimes on the shadier side of the law. Throughout his 40 year film career, Taylor was perhaps most active in westerns, appearing in such programmers as Headin' For the Rio Grande and Painted Trail. From 1952 through 1954, Forrest Taylor costarred as Grandpa Fisher on the religious TV series This is the Life.
Nelson Leigh (Actor) .. Pastor Martin
Born: January 01, 1913
Died: January 01, 1967
