The Boy Generals
"The Boy Generals," including the youngest in U.S. history---Galusha Pennypacker, who was made a brigadier at age 20 in 1865. Also: Adelbart Ames, whose chief distinction was that he lived longer than any general on either side (he died in 1933); and Micah Jenkins, a South Carolina aristocrat whose Palmetto Sharpshooters saw action at Fredericksburg, Chickamauga, Knoxville and the Wildnerness, where he was killed in action.
