Born: February 02, 1940
Birthplace: Edmonton, London, England
Trivia: Trained as an electrician before finding success as an actor. Got the opportunity to follow his dream in 1965 when his older brother Arthur pulled out of a play and volunteered David to takeover the role. Is a patron of The Shark Trust, a charity which works to advance the conservation of sharks. Was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1993, and knighted in 2005, both for services to drama. Became a father for the first time at the age of 61 in 2001. His experience of nursing his partner Myfanwy Talog through breast cancer inspired him to create The David Jason Trust for terminally ill children. Is an Honorary Vice Patron of the Royal International Air Tattoo. Qualified as a helicopter pilot. In 2013, his autobiography, David Jason: My Life, was released. In 2014, presented a cheque for £125,000 on behalf of The RAF Charitable Trust, based at Fairford, to the British RAF Air Cadet Organisation, to fund flight simulators for Air Cadets. A second volume of autobiography, Only Fools and Stories: From Del Boy to Granville, Pop Larkin to Fost, was released in 2017.
