A series of winter storms that slammed the Great Plains during the early months of 1949 are recalled. Although the storms were accented by tragedy and loss, they also brought out the best in people. In Wyoming, one of the hardest hit states, folks from all walks of life worked together to overcome what seemed like insurmountable obstacles.
