Was paired with professional dancer Lilia Kopylova as a contestant on the sixth season of Strictly Come Dancing, in 2008. Awarded an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours of 2008. Made his directorial debut with the staging of Rum and Coco Cola at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in 2010. Directed a stage revival of Rising Damp in 2013 at the Menier Chocolate Factory in 2013.

Trivia: Was the first baby to be born in 1981 in Dublin, Ireland at one minute past midnight. Performed in Twelfth Night, Ulysses and The Crucible while a student at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Has obtained a British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat (BASSC) certificate, which would help him land his role as Robin Hood in a 2006 BBC production. Won a Stars on the Horizon Award at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival Chairman's Award Gala in 2013. Has a tattoo of the lyrics "Now Here We Are" from the Coldplay song "Columbia" on his right arm.

Trivia: After completing her training at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in England, actress Shelley Conn took on several small roles in a variety of British films; in 2001, she was praised for her performance in the BBC's Down to Earth. After a number of recurring roles in British television and several stage performances throughout 2002, Conn appeared briefly as Princess Pondicherry in Tim Burton's 2005 adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Conn rejoined the BBC in 2006 to portray a criminology lecturer in The Innocence Project, a unique legal drama, and again in 2007 in the role of Ashika Chandiramani, the chief advisor to a key member of Parliament. Conn would continue to appear on screen over the coming years, appearing on shows like Raw, Strike Back, and Terra Nova.
