Trivia: Her mother was born in India, the daughter of a British Indian Army soldier. She is badly scarred on her left arm as a result of an accident with boiling soup when she was 15 months old. Her trauma was so severe that she was pronounced clinically dead at the Queen Victoria Hospital in Sussex. Played Cruella DeVil in the Children's Party at the Palace for the Queen's 80th birthday in June 2006. Founded the Artists Theatre School in Ealing, West London, England for children from 5 to 18. Was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the Queen's Birthday Honours in June 2012. Won Best Actress award at the New York Festivals International TV and Film Awards for her role in The Trials of Jimmy Rose in 2016. Became a patron of Brighton Open Air Theatre in 2018.

Trivia: His mother is Tamil Indian and his father English with Scottish ancestry. Trained with the National Youth Theatre. Studied philosophy, logic and scientific method at university for a year before leaving to pursue an acting career. Struggled for years to earn a living as an actor, working as an usher at the Strand Theatre and teaching maths to young students while auditioning. Won a British Independent Film Award for Best Newcomer for his role in My Brother the Devil in 2012. Screen International named him as a Star of Tomorrow in 2012. Awarded Best Actor at the Milan Film Festival in 2012. Named Breakthrough Brit by BAFTA in 2013. Has a son who was born in 2016. Added the middle name 'Krishna' to his official stage name in October 2017. Supports a number of charities such as It Gets Better Project and the Disasters Emergency Committee.

Trivia: Is the son of famous Gurjarati actress Leela Jariwala, and has said he felt he had a lot of expectations to live up to as an actor. Has been married to Indian television personality Apara Mehta since 1980, and although they have been separated for some time, they are not officially divorced and still remain the best of friends. Came to acting quite late in life, and made his television debut in 1997 on the eve of turning 40. Has acted both on the screen and on the stage, including in the English play Salt & Pepper, which his own production company, Leela Theatres, produced. Has said in the past that his most challenging and demanding role as an actor was playing Mohandas Gandhi in the 2007 film Ghandi My Father.

Trivia: Put into care and separated from his brothers at the age of 10 after they were caught stealing. While in care, older boys forced him to have homemade tattoos on his forearms using an old needle - one got infected and he had to have a tetanus injection. Developed a love of acting at secondary school through the encouragement of a teacher. Developed his skills and reputation as an actor in his teenage years performing at Stoke Schools Theatre, Stoke Repertory Theatre and Stoke Original Theatre, as well as Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 1979. During his time at the Guildhall School, he and a fellow student started a street theatre act which gained them an agent and, then, the required 40 hours of bookings to obtain an Equity card. Awarded an honourary degree from Staffordshire University in 2006. Crafted an ale in partnership with Crystal Palace Football Club in 2011 which was served at Selhurst Park stadium.
