The miraculous recovery of the Annapolis ring of Lt. Cdr. Minter Dial, who died in WWII while a POW of the Japanese, is detailed. Before he died, Dial asked a fellow POW to return the ring to his wife, but it was stolen from that POW. It was found in Korea 18 years later by a laborer at a possible POW camp site; another worker told a naval officer about it after noticing the officer's own Annapolis ring. That officer knew Dial from Annapolis, tracked down the ring and returned it to Dial's wife.
