The cellist traces his career and is seen performing in a number of settings. First up: A clip of Ma at age 7 in 1962, performing before Presidents Eisenhower and Kennedy. He's also seen playing with Isaac Stern, Emmanuel Ax, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Bobby McFerrin, the Hong Kong Symphony and Elmo ("Sesame Street"). And he's saluted by Ax, choreographer Mark Morris and Chinese composer Tan Dun, who calls Ma's cello "a bridge to reach anyhwere. It has linked the whole world as one."
