Connie Sellecca (Actor) .. Carolyn Giblin
Born: May 25, 1955
Birthplace: Bronx, New York, United States
Trivia: The reigning queen of the made-for-TV feature, raven-haired beauty Connie Sellecca has been lighting up the small screen since her memorable debut in the The Bermuda Depths in 1978. Whether it be in featured roles or recurring performances in such series as Hotel (1983), P.S.I. Luv U (1991), or Second Chances (1993), the actress has had an enduring success on television. A Bronx native whose family relocated to the upstate burg of Pomona when she was 12-years-old, Sellecca began to explore acting while attending Ramapo High School. She later dropped out of Boston College to pursue life as an actress, set her sights on New York, and hired an agent. Supporting herself with a series of lucrative modeling jobs in New York and Europe, she nailed her first screen test and landed a starring role in the Carl Weathers adventure The Bermuda Depths. A series of successful small-screen features followed, and Sellecca began to enjoy steady work in such TV series as Flying High and Beyond Westworld. In 1979, she married actor Gil Gerard; they divorced in 1987. That same year, Sellecca received a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in the popular series Hotel. Through the 1980s and '90s, her modeling eventually gave way to near-exclusive work as an actress, and, in 1992, she married again, this time to composer and former Entertainment Tonight host John Tesh. Sellecca averaged about a movie per year during the '90s. In 1991, she inked a six-year deal with Montgomery Ward that put her in charge of her own line of clothing and accessories. Following appearances in such efforts as A Dangerous Affair and The Surrogate (both 1995), Sellecca scored stellar ratings for The Family Channel with the drama While My Pretty One Sleeps (1997). That same year, the actress attempted to thwart disaster in Doomsday Rock. She proved her staying power with strong performances in both I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus in 2001 and Anna's Dream in 2002.
Randy Travis (Actor) .. Clay Traynor
Born: May 04, 1959
Birthplace: Marshville, North Carolina, United States
Trivia: Performed with his older brother Ricky when they were both younger. Worked as a cook and dishwasher (when he wasn't singing on stage) at the Nashville Palace in the early 1980s. Storms of Life, his 1986 debut album, sold more than 4 million copies. Inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 1986. Has an uncredited cameo in Young Guns (1988). Appeared in seven episodes of Touched By An Angel and also lent the song "When Mama Prayed" to the series finale. Released Anniversary Celebration in 2011, a collection of duets and collaborations in honor of the 25 years since the release of his debut album. Suffered a stroke in 2013.
Kyle Fairlie (Actor) .. William
Rue McClanahan (Actor) .. Miz Leona
Born: February 21, 1934
Died: June 03, 2010
Birthplace: Healdton, Oklahoma, United States
Trivia: Graduating cum laude from the University of Tulsa, Rue McClanahan studied acting with Uta Hagen and at the Perry-Mansfield school. After her professional debut with a Pennsylvania stock company in 1957, McClanahan headed to New York, where between acting gigs she worked as a waitress, took shorthand and sold blouses. Grabbing any opportunity available, she made her TV bow on a 1960 episode of the TV series Malibu Run, then appeared in a handful of exploitation films with come-hither titles like Five Minutes to Love (she played "Poochie, the girl from the shack," a credit she has since dropped from her resumé). She managed to find more prestigious work on the New York stage, starring in such well-received productions as MacBird, Jimmy Shine, Sticks and Bones and California Suite. She also played regular roles on the TV soap operas Another World and Where the Heart Is. A 1972 guest shot on Norman Lear's controversial series All in the Family led to her being cast as Vivian Harmon on Lear's popular sitcom Maude, a role she played until the series' cancellation in 1978. McClanahan's next project was her own starring series, 1978's Apple Pie, which unfortunately bit the dust after three shows. She went on to play the vitriolic Aunt Fran on the network version of Mama's Family (1983-85), then was co-starred with her Maude colleague Bea Arthur in The Golden Girls (1985-92). Her well-rounded portrayal of overly amorous museum worker Blanche Devereaux won her an 1986 Emmy award; she reprised the character in the Golden Girls spin-off Golden Palace (1992-93). The star of several made-for-TV movies, McClanahan co-produced and appeared in a brace of "dramedies," Mother of the Bride (1991) and Baby of the Bride (1992).
