Set in 1936, the film follows archaeologist and adventurer Indiana Jones, who is recruited by U.S. Army Intelligence. They inform him that Nazi Germany is searching for the Ark of the Covenant, which, according to biblical legend, holds immense supernatural power that could make an army invincible. Jones is tasked with finding the Ark before the Nazis can weaponize its power.
