Trivia: Red-headed, freckle-faced Martin Milner was only 15 when he made his screen debut in Life With Father (1947), and would continue to play wide-eyed high schoolers and college kids well into the next decade. His early film assignments included the teenaged Marine recruit in Lewis Milestone's The Halls of Montezuma (1951) and the obnoxious suitor of Jeanne Crain in Belles on Their Toes (1952). His first regular TV series was The Stu Erwin Show (1950-1955), in which he played the boyfriend (and later husband) of Stu's daughter Joyce. More mature roles came his way in Marjorie Morningstar (1957) as Natalie Wood's playwright sweetheart and in The Sweet Smell of Success (1957) as the jazz musician targeted for persecution by Winchell-esque columnist Burt Lancaster. Beginning in 1960, he enjoyed a four-year run as Corvette-driving Tod Stiles on TV's Route 66 (a statue of Milner and his co-star George Maharis currently stands at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY). A longtime friend and associate of producer/director/actor Jack Webb, Milner was cast as veteran L.A.P.D. patrolman Pete Malloy on the Webb-produced TV weekly Adam-12, which ran from 1968 to 1975. His later TV work included a short-lived 1970s series based on Johan Wyss' Swiss Family Robinson. Later employed as a California radio personality, Martin Milner continued to make occasional TV guest appearances; one of these was in the 1989 TV movie Nashville Beat, in which he was reunited with his Adam-12 co-star Kent McCord. He made an appearance on the short-lived series The New Adam-12 and had recurring roles on shows like Life Goes On and Murder, She Wrote. Milner died in 2015, at age 83.

Trivia: Supporting actor Kent McCord is best known for co-starring in the long-running series Adam-12 (1968-1975). McCord made his film debut in the made-for-television movie The Outsider (1967). Following the demise of Adam-12, McCord continued appearing in TV films and in low-budget features such as Unsub (1985) and Return of the Living Dead 3 (1993).

Trivia: Voluptuous "B"-movie actress Edy Williams started out with small, decorative roles in such films as The Naked Kiss (1964) and A House is Not a Home (1964), and such TV series as Batman and The Beverly Hillbillies. Her career really took off in the mid-1960s, when she became the protégé and briefly the wife, of nudie-movie king Russ Meyer. When Meyer briefly became the darling of the intelligentsia, he took Williams along for the ride, giving her starring roles in his major-studio releases Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (1970) and The Seven Minutes (1971). Williams didn't seem to have any pretensions about her thespic abilities; she flaunted and revelled in her sexpot status, going so far as to pose for publicity photos in the freezer of a butcher shop. She was only sporadically active in films in the 1980s and 1990s, but as she enters her sixth decade, Edy Williams is assured yearly newspaper space for her flamboyant, outrageously outfitted appearances at the annual Cannes Film Festival and Academy Awards ceremonies.

Trivia: Though he would eventually rise to fame as demolitions expert Sgt. Carter on the classic comedy series Hogan's Heroes, singer/actor Larry Hovis originally came into show business as a singer. A Washington native who was raised in Texas, Hovis vocalized with his sister Joan before joining the popular Houston quartet the Mascots in the 1950s. Coming in first in a local talent contest earned the Mascots some television exposure on Arthur Godfrey's popular television show, and soon thereafter Hovis was hosting his own daytime television show. Moving into acting in his early twenties, he appeared in numerous stage productions, as well as continuing songwriting, which eventually led to a recording contract with Capitol and a subsequent solo album entitled My Heart Belongs to Only You. Small-time stage work became big-time with Broadway appearances in The Billy Barnes Revue and From A to Z in the late '50s, and by the time Hovis packed his bags for California at the age of 28, his standup performances and his screenplay for the comedy Out of Sight were gaining him quite a reputation. Shortly after that reputation landed him a gig on Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C., he embarked on a six-year run in the breakout television comedy hit Hogan's Heroes. Hovis followed his stint on Hogan's Heroes with a high-profile job as a writer on Rowan and Martin's Laugh In, and though he was indeed a writer on the show's Emmy-winning 1968 season, he missed out on winning because his name was mistakenly omitted from the writing credits. Balancing appearances in film and television with a prominent role on the television game show The Liar's Club in the 1970s, Hovis would later tour with the first national road show of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. In his later years, Hovis returned to Texas to teach acting at Southwest Texas University (now Texas State University) while continuing to appear frequently on-stage. On September 9, 2003, Larry Hovis died in Austin, TX, following an extended battle with cancer. He was 67.

Trivia: Actor and stunt man Fred Stromsoe worked in both television and feature films. His television credits include a regular role as Officer Woods on Adam-12 between 1974 and 1975. He also appeared in segments of Wild, Wild West and Gunsmoke.

Trivia: American actress Erin Fleming played leads in a few films during the '60s, '70s, and '80s. Fleming got her start working on stage, off Broadway. She gained the most notoriety as Groucho Marx's personal secretary/companion during his last years.

Trivia: One of the most prolific of the "Who IS that?"school of character actors, Dabbs Greer has been playing small-town doctors, bankers, merchants, druggists, mayors and ministers since at least 1950. His purse-lipped countenance and Midwestern twang was equally effective in taciturn villainous roles. Essentially a bit player in films of the 1950s (Diplomatic Courier, Deadline USA, Living It Up), Greer was given more screen time than usual as a New York detective in House of Wax (1953), while his surface normality served as excellent contrast to the extraterrestrial goings-on in Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) and It! The Terror from Beyond Space. A television actor since the dawn of the cathode-tube era, Greer has shown up in hundreds of TV supporting roles, including the "origin" episode of the original Superman series, in which he played the dangling dirigible worker rescued in mid-air by the Man of Steel. Greer also played the recurring roles of storekeeper Mr. Jones on Gunsmoke (1955-60) and Reverend Robert Alden on Little House on the Prairie (1974-83). Showing no signs of slowing down, Dabbs Greer continued accepting roles in such films as Two Moon Junction (1988) and Pacific Heights (1990) into the '90s. He died following a battle with kidney and heart disease, on April 28, 2007, not quite a month after his 90th birthday.
