Trivia: Despite being an avid pre-'60s movie buff, Canadian born comedian/actor/singer (both in film and on-stage) Rich Little is known best for his vast repertoire of uncanny celebrity impressions. Little began his career at an early age; at 12 years old, he had taken to answering his teachers in their own voices. After spending time working as a disc jockey, Little was hired to impersonate Elvis Presley for an afternoon television program as part of an April Fool's joke, and successfully convinced hundreds of Elvis fans that their idol was at a local TV station. In 1963, Little was discovered in the United States by Mel Tormé, who asked him to audition for CBS's Judy Garland Show -- allegedly, Garland was immediately impressed and personally requested Little's presence on the show. Before long, Little starred in many a variety show and worked with the likes of Ed Sullivan, Jackie Gleason, Mike Douglas, and Dean Martin. Little would go on to host a Christmas special in 1978, contribute his voice to various animated series, and even star in John DeBello's 1987 spy comedy Happy Hour, which follows Little and Jamie Farr's plight to put an end to the corporate machinations of two rival beer companies. In 1988, Little took the reins for Rich Little: One's a Crowd, a one-man show which featured some of his best celebrity impressions, and offered tips on how to cheat at golf in Rich Little: Little Scams on Golf (1991). After lending his vocal chords to 1992's Bebe's Kids, Little played Johnny Carson in The Late Shift (1996), a made-for-cable docudrama chronicling the battle between Jay Leno and David Letterman, who both hoped to take over Johnny Carson's role as the king of late night television. In 2002, Little impressively portrayed every president of the United States between 1960 and 2002 -- not to mention Billy Carter, James Carville, Robert Kennedy, Jimmy Stewart, Henry Kissinger, and Walter Cronkite -- for Richard Little Staring in the Presidents (2002). Though the impressionist complains that today's "vanilla" entertainment icons don't have distinct enough voices, he continues to make jaws drop impersonating on the Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and New York show circuit.

Trivia: Learning the ropes at the Bucks County Playhouse and New York's Neighborhood Playhouse, Jessica Walter, born January 31st, 1949, made her Broadway debut in 1961's Advise and Consent. The raven-haired leading lady was then seen on a regular basis in several Manhattan-based TV programs, including the daytimer Love of Life and the 1965 nighttime series For the People. In films from 1964, Jessica was one of eight young female "newcomers" (Candice Bergen, Elizabeth Hartman, Joanna Pettet et. al.) who went on to greater things after appearing en masse in Sidney Lumet's The Group (1966). Her flashiest screen role was as the dangerously possessive "number one fan" Evelyn Draper in Clint Eastwood's Play Misty for Me (1971). Of her many weekly-TV assignments, Walter's title role in the mid-'70s cop series Amy Prentiss garnered her the most attention; that is, until recently, when Walter found late-career acclaim on the award-winning sitcom Arrested Development. As the insensitive, materialistic matriarch of the Bluth family, Walter garnered a plum comedic role, and Emmy attention to boot. Walter continued to remain active in television appearances following the cancellation of Arrested Development, and joined the cast of the Broadway revival of Anything Goes in 2011.

Trivia: Prior to his first TV appearance on a 1961 episode of Dobie Gillis, Bill Bixby had been a college student (he dropped out of UC Berkeley in his senior year), a lifeguard, a male model, and a regional stock-company actor. Bixby went on to play small roles in films like Lonely Are the Brave and Irma La Douce, and was featured in the Broadway comedy Under the Yum Yum Tree. In 1963, he graduated to TV stardom with the role of Tim O'Hara on the popular sci-fi sitcom My Favorite Martian. Anxious to change his "wholesome" image after Martian ended its three-year run in 1966, Bixby accepted a small but flashy role as a cowardly villain in the big-screen Western Ride Beyond Vengeance (1966). Like it or not, however, Bixby's future lay in sympathetic parts on episodic television. In each of his subsequent starring series -- The Courtship of Eddie's Father (1969-1972), The Magician (1973), The Incredible Hulk (1978-1982), True Confessions (1984), and Goodnight Beantown (1983) -- Bixby frequently did double-duty as actor and director. He also directed such made-for-TV movies as Barbary Coast (1974), Another Pair of Aces: Three of a Kind (1991), and the Roseanne/Tom Arnold vehicle The Woman Who Loved Elvis (1993). Long one of Hollywood's most eligible bachelors, Bixby finally took the marital plunge with actress Brenda Benet; the union ended tragically when Benet, distraught over the death of her son, Christopher, committed suicide. Bixby's second wife was Judith Kliban, daughter of magazine cartoonist B. Kliban. At the time of his death from prostate cancer, Bill Bixby was principal director of the TV series Blossom.
