In the 1980s, down-on-his-luck actor Johnny Cage, who specializes in martial arts action sequences, struggles to find well-paying work in Hollywood. However, when his co-star suddenly vanishes from the streets of Los Angeles, Johnny finds one of the plots of his film projects come to life as he navigates sinister and dangerous street fighters in pursuit of justice.
