Met his wife Rosa Adriana Ojeda when they were teenagers at a party and together they have two daughters. Moved to Mexico City and began his career in show business at the age of 18 working as a model and actor in films, television and theater. Best known for his roles in telenovelas, most notably La Madrastra and Fuego en le Sangre. Co-hosted the youth program Xe-Tu in 1984 with Erika Bueno. Won an ACE Award in 2006.

Trivia:
Antonio Aguilar was a major Mexican musical personality and action star of the 1950s and 1960s. His prowess at both singing and fisticuffs also enabled him to be compared favorably with several of Hollywood's top Western personalities. In films from 1952, Aguilar occasionally made appearances in American films with Mexican backgrounds. One of his most memorable English-language film roles was the antagonistic General Rojos in the sprawling, brawling John Wayne/Rock Hudson vehicle The Undefeated (1969). Aguilar died of pneumonia after a battle with heart disease at age 88.
