Trivia:
First acting experience was in a Christmas play when he was 8. Joined his high school's theater club because a teacher asked him to; and was later invited to join the Instituto de Arte Escénico (Institute of Performing Arts). Acted with the Compañía Nacional de Teatro (National Theater Company). One of his early roles was as Capt. Hook in Peter Pan. Worked as a clown at children's parties. Named Comedian of the Year in 2003 by the Association of Theatre Critics and Journalists (PTCA). Voiced Garfield in the Mexican releases of Garfield: The Movie and Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties.

A natural athlete, his main interest as a teenager was to become a professional soccer player. After his first divorce, he decided to move to the United States to act in American television series and films. Won a Regional Emmy Award for Best Actor for his lead role in the telenovela Guadalupe in 1993. Was named "Mr. Amigo" by the Mr. Amigo Association in 2012, recognizing his acting contributions in both Mexico and the United States.
