Anne Hathaway (Actor) .. Maggie Murdock
Born: November 12, 1982
Birthplace: Brooklyn, NY
Trivia: An actress whose first big screen gig also proved to be her breakthrough, Anne Hathaway became a familiar face to millions of moviegoers thanks to her starring role in Garry Marshall's 2001 hit The Princess Diaries. Cast as a clumsy high school girl who finds out she is the princess of a small country, Hathaway was able to prove her comedic timing opposite no less than Julie Andrews.Hailing from Brooklyn, where she was born November 12, 1982, Hathaway became involved in the theater at a young age, and as a teenager performed with the Barrow Group, a prestigious New York theatre company. She did her first industry work in the short-lived but critically praised TV series Get Real before auditioning for Marshall, who, according to legend, cast the actress as the accident-prone princess after she fell off a chair during her audition. The success of The Princess Diaries opened a number of doors for Hathaway, but she chose the one that led to Vassar College, where she enrolled in 2000, taking some time off from film.Though a supporting performance in the 2002 box-office disappointment Nicholas Nickleby offered Hathaway little chance to shine, a lead performance as the eponymous character in thefantasy-themed romantic comedy Ella Enchanted (2004) found her stepping into some big slippers for another Cinderella-style story not unlike the obligatory Princess Diaries 2 that same year. As if to anounce her acendancy out of the teen fantasy ghetto, Hathaway plunged into edgier territory with the gritty teen drama Havoc (also 2004), although the explicit film merited only a video release. It was her next two roles, however, that would announce the young actor's arrival into adulthood. As one of the two quietly suffering wives in Ang Lee's acclaimed Brokeback Mountain, Hathaway exhibited an irrepressible rodeo-girl spirit broken down over the course of a sham marriage. As the co-star of the chick-lit adaptation The Devil Wears Prada in 2006, she entered the world of contemporary, high-fashion power players, suffering the slings and arrows of a deliciously evil (and Oscar-nominated) Meryl Streep. The film played throughout the summer, becoming a bona-fide sleeper hit. Although initially cast in 2007's runaway summer comedy, Knocked Up, Hathaway backed out of the role that eventually went to Katharine Heigl. She chose instead to follow the period-romance path with Becoming Jane, a Shakespeare in Love-style speculative fiction on the life and one true love of Jane Austen.2008 turned out to be a banner year for the actress who scored a box office hit starring opposite Steve Carell in the big-screen adaptation of Get Smart, and garnered the best reviews of her career thus far for her work as a recovering addict in Jonathan Demme's Rachel Getting Married. That role earned her a number of year-end critics awards, as well as Best Actress nominations from the Screen Actors Guild and the Academy. Hathaway would subsuquently find herself free to enjoy leading lady status, appearing in a number of iconic projects over the coming years, like the White Queen in Alice in Wonderland and a slinky Selina Kyle/Catwoman inThe Dark Knight Rises. In 2012 she landed the part of Fantine in Tom Hooper's adaptation of the phenomenally successful stage musical Les Miserable. Getting to deliver the production's most beloved song, "I Dreamed a Dream", Hathaway made the most of the small but juicy part and was rewarded with the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. In 2014, Hathaway appeared in the indie film Song One and reteamed with her Dark Knight Rises director Christopher Nolan for the sci-fi epic film Interstellar. She next starred in The Intern, opposite Robert De Niro, and reprised her role Alice Through the Looking Glass.
Hank Azaria (Actor) .. Dr. Stan Knight
Born: April 25, 1964
Birthplace: Forest Hills, New York, United States
Trivia: Rubber-faced comic actor and vocal artist extraordinaire Hank Azaria initially plied his trade on the stand-up circuit, then subsequently landed stage appearances and tackled bit parts on television. Azaria scored his breakthrough in 1989 when he began providing a multitude of voices for the Fox network's groundbreaking animated series The Simpsons, an assignment that imparted the performer with an enviable degree of cult stardom. In 1991, Azaria nabbed a major role in the Fox live-action sitcom Herman's Head, which ran until 1994 and gave audiences a glimpse of the man responsible for the vocal intonations of some of the most famous characters to ever corrupt an animator's storyboard.A native of Queens, NY, where he was born into a family of Sephardic Jews on April 25, 1964, Azaria commenced film roles in the late 1980s, coincident with his Simpsons stardom. Work on that program (which, after graduating from a series of crude sketches on The Tracey Ullmann Show to its own animated sitcom, quickly shot up to qualify as the Fox network's most popular enterprise) easily outstripped Azaria's screen work in popularity and visibility for many years. Recurring parts included Indian convenience store owner Apu, quack doctor Nick Riviera, dim-witted bartender Moe, and the idiotic, pig-nosed Springfield Chief of Police, Clancy Wiggum. Though his Simpsons work continued unabated over the years, beginning in the mid-1990s Azaria branched out somewhat, placing a heavier emphasis on live-action portrayals. Even in that venue, however, his work tonally mirrored his animated contributions; he specialized in adroitly handling goofy, over-the-top character parts, often with an ethnic bent. The performer attained visibility and memorability, for example, as the klutzy and scantily-dressed gay houseboy Agador in The Birdcage (1995), Hector, a goofy Hispanic paramour with a permanent effeminate lisp, in Joe Roth's underrated showbiz comedy America's Sweethearts (2001), and Claude, a Gallic beach bum with no qualms about taking off with other men's wives, in John Hamburg's gross-out romantic comedy Along Came Polly (2004).Azaria has also departed from the boundaries of screen comedy from time to time, doing memorable work across genre lines in such films as Great Expectations (1998) (which cast him as Gwyneth Paltrow's lackluster fiancé), Mystery Men (1999) (as the superhero Blue Raja), and Tim Robbins' Cradle Will Rock (1999), a historical drama about art and politics in 1930s New York that cast Azaria as leftist playwright Marc Blitzstein. In 2005, Azaria presided as one of the many off-color monologuists in Penn Jillette's stand-up comedy showcase film The Aristocrats; the performer subsequently provided at least seventeen voices (including his usual series roles) for The Simpsons Movie (2007) and voiced both Abbie Hoffmann and Allen Ginsberg in the animated sequences of Brett Morgen's offbeat documentary Chicago 10 (2007).He appeared in the pre-historic comedy Year One, and provided several voices in Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. He played an ethically challenged doctor in Love and Other Drugs, and portrayed Gargamel, the bad guy in the big-screen hit The Smurfs. He was in family film Hop, and lent his prodigious vocal talents to Happy Feet Two. In 2012 he acted in the biopic Lovelace. In July 1999, Azaria married actress Helen Hunt, with whom he co-starred in several episodes of the sitcom Mad About You. The two divorced within eighteen months.
Josh Gad (Actor) .. Josh Randall
Born: February 23, 1981
Birthplace: Hollywood, Florida, United States
Trivia: After a brief-role in the Christian-themed direct-to-video feature Mary and Joe (2002) -- a kind of contemporary update about the immaculate conception set in modern-day New York City -- actor Josh Gad distinguished himself with a colorful supporting role on the Kelsey Grammer/Patricia Heaton-headlined sitcom Back to You (2007). The Fox series told of the hilarious and often biting rivalry between two newscasters, professionally reunited after more than a decade apart. Gad played 26-year-old Ryan Church, the diminutive, overweight, and wet-behind-the-ears news director with a mile-long geek streak. He was in the gambling drama 21, and the Rainn Wilson comedy The Rocker. He had a major supporting turn in Love and Other Drugs, and lent his voice to the 2012 animated film Ice Age: Continental Drift. Gad has also enjoyed great success acting on the Broadway stage in both The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and The Book Of Mormon.
George Segal (Actor) .. Dr. James Randall
Born: February 13, 1934
Birthplace: Great Neck, New York, United States
Trivia: George Segal kicked off his performing career as a boy magician in his Long Island neighborhood. An accomplished banjoist, Segal played with Bruno Lynch and His Imperial Jazz before enrolling at Columbia University. After three years' military service, Segal resettled in New York in 1959, and that same year was cast in his first off-Broadway play. Entering films with 1961's The Young Doctors, Segal quickly established himself as one of Hollywood's most accomplished young character actors; in 1967, he received an Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Nick in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf. When one compiles a list of favorite films from the late 1960s-early 1970s, one usually spends a great deal of time exclaiming "Hey! Segal was in that, too." He played a hustling POW in King Rat (1965), a Cagneyesque hood in Saint Valentine's Day Massacre (1967), ulcerated homicide detective Mo Brummel in No Way to Treat a Lady (1968), a neurotic New York Jewish intellectual in Bye Bye Braverman (1968), a straight-laced bachelor in love with a foul-mouthed hooker in The Owl and the Pussycat (1970), and a repressed lawyer saddled with an outrageously senile mother in Where's Poppa? (1970). During this same period, Segal had an arrangement with the ABC TV network, permitting him to star in television adaptations of classic Broadway plays: he was cast as George opposite Nicol Williamson's Lenny in Of Mice and Men, then switched gears as vicious escaped criminal Glenn Griffin in The Desperate Hours. Throughout this busy period in his life, Segal fronted the Beverly Hills Unlisted Jazz Band, cutting several records and making a number of memorable Tonight Show appearances. In 1973, Segal's successful screen teaming with Glenda Jackson in A Touch of Class enabled him to demand a much higher price for his film services; unfortunately, many of the films that followed--The Black Bird (1975) and The Duchess and the Dirtwater Fox (1976) in particular--failed to justify Segal's seven-figure price tag. In the 1980s, Segal starred in two well-written but low-rated TV weeklies, Take Five (1987) and Murphy's Law (1989). His film career was lifted from the doldrums in the late 1980s with such plum roles as the pond-scum father of Kirstie Alley's baby in Look Who's Talking (1989) and the "pinko" comedy writer in For the Boys (1991). Segal's projects of the 1990s have included the syndicated TV adventure series High Tide (1994) and such film roles as the bemused husband of abrasive Jewish mama Mary Tyler Moore in the 1996 Ben Stiller vehicle Flirting with Disaster. In 1996, Segal found renewed success on television playing a well-meaning but rather duplicitous publisher whose estranged daughter comes to work for him in the razor-sharp NBC sitcom Just Shoot Me. Though he worked less frequently during the 21st century, he appeared in a variety of projects including The Linda McCartney Story as the main character's father, Fielder's Choice, 2012, and Love and Other Drugs.
Jill Clayburgh (Actor) .. Nancy Randall
Born: April 30, 1944
Died: November 05, 2010
Birthplace: New York City, New York
Trivia: American actress Jill Clayburgh was fortunate enough to find work in her field of endeavor directly after graduation from Sarah Lawrence University. She acted with the Williamstown Theatre Festival, the Charles Playhouse in Boston, and, with such future film luminaries as Al Pacino she appeared in several off-Broadway productions A tentative stab at film acting in The Wedding Party, filmed at Sarah Lawrence in 1963 but released in 1969, might have been forgotten save for its roster of celebrities-to-be: Jill Clayburgh, Robert DeNiro and director Brian De Palma. Otherwise, Clayburgh's "official" stepping stones into stardom would include her continuing role on the TV daytime drama Search for Tomorrow and her Broadway appearances in such successes as The Rothschilds and Pippin. The actress' earliest mainstream films-- Portnoy's Complaint (1972) and The Thief Who Came to Dinner (1974)--were not exactly vehicles for her talent. It would take her vivid performance as a battered prostitute on the 1974 TV-movie Hustling to make audiences aware of her extraordinary talents. Unfortunately, her turn as Carole Lombard in the unsuccessful 1976 Gable and Lombard set her back a few steps. It helped to be in the box-office winner Silver Streak (1977), though the actress wasn't served well playing second fiddle to Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor; she was given a better chance to shine opposite Burt Reynolds and Kris Kristofferson in Semi-Tough (1977). In 1978 came the turn-around: An Unmarried Woman, in which Clayburgh's richly textured performance as a thirtyish divorcee trying to make sense of her disoriented life should have won her an Academy Award. It didn't, but Clayburgh was now firmly an "A"-list actress. Bucking the usual trend, she decided not to complacently go the "moneymaking vehicle" route but risked her success to stretch her talent in such films as director Bernardo Bertolucci's Luna (1979) and Costa-Gavras' Hannah K (1983). As expected, these non-blockbuster appearances put her career in the doldrums, compelling her to toil for her paycheck in such indifferent films as the 1986 thriller Where are the Children?. But Clayburgh wass one of those rare American film stars to whom the work itself is more important than the fame.
Kate Jennings Grant (Actor) .. Gina
Born: March 23, 1970
Birthplace: Elizabeth, New Jersey, United States
Trivia: Versatile actress Kate Jennings Grant graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts in music composition and English, and did her graduate studies at the prestigious Juilliard in Manhattan. Thereafter, Grant divided her time and energies between theater, film, and television, with a particularly strong emphasis on stage work. Theatrically, Grant graced such Broadway productions as An American Daughter and Proof, while off-Broadway her early credits included The Marriage of Bette and Boo, Radiant Baby, and The Beard of Avon. She moved into filmed work in the early 2000s, with guest-star turns on series including Jag, Law & Order and Sex and the City, and supporting contributions to features such as Bill Condon's biopic Kinsey (2004) and the 9/11 docudrama United 93 (2006). In 2008, Oscar-winning director Ron Howard (Apollo 13) tapped Grant to play a young Diane Sawyer in the broadcasting saga Frost/Nixon (2008).
Katheryn Winnick (Actor) .. "Lisa"
Born: December 17, 1984
Birthplace: Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada
Trivia: A native of Toronto, Ontario, fair-haired actress Katheryn Winnick began her movie career behind the camera, as a martial arts trainer for the stars. (She earned dual black belts in tae kwon do and karate, and received her bodyguard license at an early age.) Winnick soon parlayed her glamorous countenance into acting, but expressed a highly vocal interest in challenging and demanding roles, and resisted being pigeonholed as simply a pretty face. Audiences first gained exposure to Winnick on television, with her involvement in such series as PSI Factor, Student Bodies, The It Factor, and Oz. Around 2003, the actress segued smoothly into feature roles. These included bit parts in the Adam Sandler/Drew Barrymore romantic comedy 50 First Dates (2004), the Matthew McConaughey/Sarah Jessica Parker romantic comedy Failure to Launch (2006), and the slasher movie Amusement (2008).
Peter Friedman (Actor) .. California Man
Born: April 24, 1949
Trivia: Avid filmgoers and adherents to the indie film movement that swept through America in the early to mid-'90s will invariably remember Peter Friedman as the sneaky, underhanded, New Age-espousing "self-help guru" who supposedly attempts to offer ailing Julianne Moore a hand up -- but only succeeds in draining her wallet -- in Todd Haynes' harrowing drama Safe (1995). In truth, that role represented just one of many memorable cinematic contributions for the prolific, highly versatile character actor, whose resumé reads like a best-of list of both independent film and Hollywood product. This slightly diminutive, stocky, and balding player first made an impression with a small role in the holiday slasher opus Christmas Evil (1980), then essayed a series of consistently interesting projects including Finnegan Begin Again (1984), The Seventh Sign (1988, as a priest), Blink (1994, as an ophthalmologist), and I Shot Andy Warhol (1996). Friedman's onscreen activity extended into the 2000s, most visibly in Tamara Jenkins' drama The Savages (2007), in which he played Laura Linney's sex-hungry paramour.

Scott Cohen (Actor) .. Ted Goldstein
Born: December 19, 1961
Birthplace: Bronx, New York, United States
Trivia: Though he has appeared in a number of feature films, Scott Cohen is more familiar to audiences for his TV work. A native New Yorker, Cohen trained at the Actor's Studio and began his career on the stage. After his film debut in Adrian Lyne's supernatural thriller Jacob's Ladder (1990), Cohen appeared in several 1990s films, including The Mambo Kings (1992) (as one of the Mambo Kings' band members), Peter Yates' big-hearted dramedy Roommates (1995), and the comic Howard Stern biopic Private Parts (1997). Cohen played larger roles in the B-dramas Vibrations (1995) and Sweet Evil (1997), but his career began to thrive more on television in the late '90s. Following a season on the daytime drama One Life to Live in 1994, he played prominent supporting parts in the notable HBO biopics Gotti (1996), starring Armand Assante, and Gia (1998), featuring Angelina Jolie in the title role. Dubbed "Mr. February" by Entertainment Weekly, Cohen's February 2000 guest-starring stint on ABC's durable cop drama NYPD Blue coincided with his starring role as Wolf on NBC's elaborate, much-ballyhooed fantasy miniseries The 10th Kingdom and his supporting role in CBS's docudrama about the notorious JonBenet Ramsey murder, Perfect Murder, Perfect Town. Cohen continued his TV success the following fall, with a guest-starring role on the critically acclaimed WB series Gilmore Girls (2000). Along with his stint on Gilmore Girls, Cohen joined the guest star roster of ABC's celebrated legal drama The Practice in 2001 and co-starred with The Practice's Camryn Mannheim in the TV movie Kiss My Act (2001), a Cyrano de Bergerac-style romantic comedy. Returning to feature films in the same genre, Cohen was the brusque ex-boyfriend-turned-chastened new suitor to the neurotic, bi-curious title character in Kissing Jessica Stein (2001). A hit on the festival circuit, Kissing Jessica Stein became an art house favorite upon its spring 2002 release. Cohen finally landed a regular lead in a TV series, though, with the heavier Showtime drama Street Time (2002). As a drug dealer's gambling addict parole officer, Cohen joined former Northern Exposure star Rob Morrow in playing it serious in a gritty scenario involving cops who are as morally compromised as their quarry. He had a brief turn on Gilmore Girls, and a major role in 2007's small-screen adaptation of For One More Day. In 2009 he landed a brief role in Everybody's Fine, and appeared the next year in Love and Other Drugs. He became a regular on the series Necessary Roughness in 2011, and that same year he was cast in the made for cable docudrama Justice for Natalee Holloway. He is married and has one son.

Jason Bernard (Actor)
Born: May 17, 1938
Died: October 16, 1996
Trivia: African-American character actor Jason Bernard is one of those performers who seems to have never been out of work. Bernard's cinematic stock-in-trade has been stern authority figures: the parole officer in Car Wash (1976), the Mayor in Blue Thunder (1983), Judge Bochco in The Star Chamber (1983), Major Donovan in No Way Out (1987), and so forth. Bernard has appeared numerous times on television as a guest star and as a recurring character. Some of his most famous TV roles include Preston Wade in the daytime drama Days of Our Lives, mechanical whiz Fletch in the 1983 prime-timer High Performance, and the chronically humorless publishing executive Mr. Paul Bracken in the 1991 Fox sitcom Herman's Head. For his supporting role in the Lifetime network movie Sophie and the Moonhanger (1995), Bernard received a Cable Ace nomination. His last feature-film role was that of a judge in the Jim Carrey comedy Liar, Liar (1997). On October 16, 1996, the 58-year-old Bernard was driving in Hollywood when he suffered a fatal heart attack.
