Sarita Montiel (Actor) .. Soledad
Raf Vallone (Actor)
Born: February 17, 1916
Died: October 31, 2002
Trivia: Educated at the University of Turin, Raf Vallone was a professional soccer player and jack-of-all-trades journalist before making a spectacular film acting debut in the neorealist classic Bitter Rice. While Vallone has never wanted for roles of depth and meaning (Giovanni in De Sica's Two Women [1961], Eddie Carbone in Arthur Miller's A View from the Bridge [1962]), some producers insist upon casting him only as a jet-setting playboy, nattily attired in the latest fashions, a beautiful girl on each arm. In addition, Vallone has played so many unsavory characters like Mario Bello in 1964's Harlow that one wonders if his first name shouldn't be "Raffish." The actor began curtailing his film work in 1990, not long after his well-rounded portrayal of Cardinal Lamberti in The Godfather III (1990). Raf Vallone is the husband of his one-time co-star, actress Ellen Varzi.
Frank Villard (Actor)
Born: January 01, 1916
Died: January 01, 1980
Trivia: French actor Frank Villard (born Francois Drouineau in Saint-Jean-d'Angely) frequently played leading roles in average-quality French films. Before becoming an actor, Villard was a painter.
Ana Mariscal (Actor)
Born: July 23, 1923
Trivia: Spanish actress Ana Mariscal made an auspicious directorial debut in 1952 with Segundo López, Aventurero Urbano/Segundo López, Urban Adventurer, a highly personal drama which has come to be considered a Spanish neorealist classic. Mariscal's first experience as an actress was in an amateur theater company while studying science in college. When her brother, actor and director Luis Arroyo, went to Italy in 1940 to appear in the Italian-Spanish co-production El Último Húsar/The Last Hussar, Mariscal accompanied him. The film's director, Luis Marquina, sensed Mariscal's talent and gave her a bit part in the film. This began a successful career that would encompass years of stage work and over 40 film appearances. As an actress, one of Mariscal's most popular films was her brother's Dulcinea (1946). She founded her own production company, Bosco Film, in 1952 and through it produced her acclaimed directorial debut. Between 1956 and 1961, Mariscal taught acting at the Instituto de Investigaciones y Experiencias Cinematográficas.
