Harry Hamlin (Actor) .. Steve Catlin
Born: October 30, 1951
Birthplace: Pasadena, California, United States
Trivia: Handsome American actor Harry Hamlin studied his craft at San Francisco's American Conservatory Theatre. Hamlin made his film debut as a John Garfieldesque prizefighter in the 1930s spoof Movie, Movie (1978). Three years later, he played Perseus in the Ray Harryhausen co-produced Clash of the Titans (1981). Also appearing in this film was international sex symbol Ursula Andress, who became Hamlin's "constant companion" over the next few years, a liaison that resulted in a son. Even as his film career dwindled down to such forgettable fare as Blue Skies Again (1983), in which he played an immature Ted Turner type, Hamlin's career flourished on television. He starred in a 1979 TV miniseries adaptation of James T. Farrell's Studs Lonigan, played a courageous astronaut on the 1985 multi-episode production Space, and essayed the role of a straying politician in the 1988 two-parter Favorite Son. Hamlin's best-known TV assignment, which he launched in 1986, was the role of amorous litigation attorney Michael Kuzak on the popular NBC series L.A. Law. He is divorced from actress Nicollette Sheridan. Hamlin continued to find steady work throughout the 90s, appearing on numerous TV shows such as The Outer Limits, Remember WENN, and The Nanny, and even providing voice work for Batman: The Animated Series. The actor also took roles in various films and TV movies like Allie & Me and Badge of Betrayal. After marrying soap actress Lisa Rinna in 1997, he entered the new millennium with no plans to slow down, reuniting with the L.A. Law cast in 2002 for L.A. Law: The Movie, and taking a recurring role on the TV show Veronica Mars as the movie star father of the character Logan. Interestingly enough, in an episode of the show Hamlin's character swears under oath that in 1987 he was People Magazine's Sexiest Man of the Year, and Hamlin was in fact given that very title that same year.He returned to the small-screen to compete in the third season of the reality show Dancing With the Stars, and tried his hand at scripted series television yet again in 2009 with Harper's Island.
Helen Shaver (Actor) .. Edie Ballew
Daphne Ashbrook (Actor) .. Dyna
Born: January 30, 2011
Birthplace: Long Beach, California
Trivia: Ashbrook is a leading actress onscreen beginning with Quiet Cool (1986).
Terence Knox (Actor) .. Bobby Ballew
Born: December 16, 1946
Trivia: In films from the age of 17, American actor Terence Knox has been busiest since the mid-1980s. Always working, if not always appreciated for his efforts, Knox could be seen in roles ranging from the executive-turned-survivalist in 1990's Snow Kill to the Jim Jones-type cult leader in 1993's Children of the Corn II. While the names of his films may not ring a bell, audiences are familiar with Knox through his TV work. In addition to co-starring in such series as St. Elsewhere (1984) (as a rapist doctor!) and All is Forgiven (1986), Terence Knox was top-billed as Sgt. Zeke Anderson in Tour of Duty, which ran from 1987 through 1989.
Ed Lauter (Actor) .. Glen Emory
Born: October 30, 1940
Died: October 16, 2013
Birthplace: Long Beach, Long Island, New York
Trivia: An English major in college, Ed Lauter worked as a stand-up comic before entering films in 1971. The tall, menacing Lauter has generally been typecast as humorless, easily corruptible authority figures. He was at his meanest as the vindictive Captain Knaur in Robert Aldrich's The Longest Yard. His TV credits include such roles as Sheriff Cain in BJ and the Bear (1979-80) and General Louis Crewes in Stephen King's The Golden Years (1991). In 1976, Ed Lauter was afforded a rare leading role--and a sympathetic one to boot--in the made-for-TV murder mystery Last Hours Before Morning (1976). Lauter appeared in the 2005 remake of The Longest Yard and had a small role in the Oscar-winning film The Artist (2011). He also had a recurring role on the TV series Shameless. Lauter passed away in 2013 of mesothelioma at age 74, with several films in post-production, awaiting release.
Eileen Brennan (Actor) .. Martha Catlin
Born: September 03, 1932
Died: July 28, 2013
Birthplace: Los Angeles, California, United States
Trivia: American actress Eileen Brennan was the daughter of Jean Manahan, a moderately successful silent screen actress. Brennan studied at both Georgetown University and the American Academy of Dramatic Art before making her mark as star of the 1959 off-Broadway musical Little Mary Sunshine. Brennan was among the first-season stars of TV's Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In, essentially doing hilarious variations of her simpering "Mary Sunshine" persona. With her 1970s film appearances in The Last Picture Show (1971), The Sting (1972) and Hustle (1974) came the world-weary, hard-bitten characterizations with which she built her movie following. She was nominated for an Oscar for her expert interpretation of an army sergeant in Goldie Hawn's Private Benjamin (1980), then recreated the role for the 1981 TV sitcom version of this film (which won her an Emmy). While filming the TV Benjamin, Brennan was seriously injured in a car accident. The recovery was long and painful, but by 1985 she was back at work, as caustic as ever in recent films as Clue (1985), White Palace (1991) and the Last Picture Show sequel Texasville (1990). She continued to work steadily in a variety of projects including Murder So Sweet and 1995's Freaky Friday. She also made guest appearances on various T shows including Murder, She Wrote, E/R, Mad About You, and Touched By an Angel. In the 21st century she could be seen in Jeepers Creepers and Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous. Brennan passed away in 2013. She was 80 years old.
Faith Ford (Actor) .. Joyce Catlin
Born: September 14, 1964
Birthplace: Alexandria, Louisiana, United States
Trivia: Sweet, Southern Faith Ford is perhaps best known as perky anchorwoman Corky from the long-running sitcom Murphy Brown. After growing up in Virginia, where she honed her passion for acting in school plays, Ford headed off to New York at the age of 17 to pursue a career in show business. She began landing appearances on shows like Webster and the soap opera Another World before changing coasts and trying her luck in Hollywood. She landed a recurring role on the drama thirtysomething, and shortly following, she landed the now-iconic role of Corky on Murphy Brown. Ford stayed with the show through all of its nine seasons, using her downtime to try out other projects like the family movie North. When Murphy Brown ended its run, Ford executive produced and starred in the series Maggie Winters, which got excellent reviews but sadly lasted for only one season. Ford had no shortage of projects, however; she was cast in the hit show Norm in 1999, and in 2003, she took a starring role in the ABC series Hope & Faith, playing a typical, Midwestern mom whose world is turned upside down when her movie-star sister shows up at her door. The popular series lasted until 2006, when Ford started looking for a new project. She found what she was looking for with 2007's comedy series Carpoolers, a show about the hilarious and strange goings-on between a group of men who drive to work together.
K.T. Oslin (Actor)
Born: May 15, 1942
Juliette Marshall (Actor) .. Lynda
Michael Bowen (Actor) .. Detective Culbertson
Born: June 21, 1957
Trivia: Prolific and versatile, actor Michael Bowen joined the casts of some of the most critically respected and lucrative pictures of the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s, nearly always enlisted as an unremarkable everyman. Bowen launched his career with bit parts in such pictures as Valley Girl (1983), Iron Eagle (1985), and Less Than Zero (1987), then graduated to supporting roles by the late '90s. He was particularly memorable as cop Mark Dargus, the partner of ATF agent Ray Nicolette (Michael Keaton) in Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction follow-up, Jackie Brown (1997), then turned in a haunting portrayal of Rick, the dysfunctional father of game show contestant Stanley (Jeremy Blackman) in Paul Thomas Anderson's mosaic of contemporary L.A. life, Magnolia (1999). In the following decade, Bowen re-teamed with Tarantino for the neo-martial arts opus Kill Bill Vol. 1 (2003) and delivered an intense performance as a cruel and vile counselor at a rehab center in first-time director Monty Lapica's psychodrama, Self-Medicated (2005). He also took on a recurring role on the hit TV drama Lost as Danny Pickett, a hotheaded, tough member of the Others, during the second and third seasons of the series (2006-2007).
