Episode 1 - The ProdigalsLife for the Indian doctor and other residents of the sleepy valley village of Trefelin takes an unexpected turn with the homecoming of Basil and Robert Thomas, sons of a distinguished local family, who have returned with big plans for the village.

Episode 2 - The Gold RushThe Thomas brothers begin trying to convince Trefelin to back their plan for a new town, complete with new supermarket and surgery. Whilst suave Doctor Robert renews his acquaintance with his childhood sweetheart, Megan, older brother Basil soon has the village hall busy with villagers eager to exchange their house deeds as deposits for homes with all mod cons in the new development.

Episode 3 - Desperate MeasuresAn act of sabotage breaks the village's calm, and Basil Thomas wastes no time in telling Emlyn who he thinks is to blame. Sian decides that farmer Ceri might be worth ensnaring with her feminine charms - at least if he really has come into some unexpected money - and Robert is doing his best to win Megan back, much to Emlyn's alarm.

Episode 4 - TrappedAt the mine, Prem, Emlyn and Owen are trapped deep underground following the accident. Meanwhile, an unknowing Kamini is left to deal with the patients in the surgery and with an AWOL Dan.

Episode 5 - Into the LightPrem and Emlyn begin to suspect foul play behind the collapse at the mine. If it's no accident then Aled and Daf are the prime suspects, but they protest their innocence.
