Episode 1 - Episode 1It’s winter in the Pay De La Loire – a time for repairs and restoration. Dick and Angel have done up half of the Chateau. But that means there are still more than 20 rooms to go. And in spite of all the grafting, Dick and Angel have actually managed to neglect their own quarters on the first floor. So, this winter, Angel wants to create a special retreat for the whole family. Angel chooses a stripes and safari theme. She has always loved circuses and she’s hoping that her children, Arthur and Dorothy, will be inspired by thoughts of exotic creatures and curious circuit tent interiors.

Episode 2 - Episode 2It’s Spring and Dick is busy in the walled garden. It’s the year when he wants to tame his precious garden once and for all. Last year he lost the battle and many of his crops were engulfed by weeds and brambles. This year, he’s cleared all the trees, the sycamore ‘weeds’ that had grown into unwieldy giants over the last century and has tilled the soil ready for planting. To help his cause, he buys a mini tractor. He barely gets it through the gates.

Episode 3 - Episode 3It’s late Spring and the wedding season is looming. Dick and Angel have 8 booked this year – the equivalent of going from 0-60 in their new business. But are they ready? The centerpiece of their facilities is going to be a 40 year old Citroen van that once peddled toys and snacks around the beaches of Northern France. Looking at it now, it’s difficult to see the potential, but Angel is convinced it has star quality.
