Season 4 Episode Guide

Episode 1 - Episode 1

It’s midsummer at the chateau and Dick and Angel are busier than ever. With seven weddings and fourteen food lovers’ weekends to prepare for there’s little time to rest. Renovation work begins to transform the rickety old stables into a granny flat for Angel’s parents, including extensive work on the sewerage system. Dick is keen to teach the kids the lore of the countryside and takes them to the walled garden to pick elderflower for his home brewed elderflower champagne.

Episode 2 - Episode 2

It’s the beginning of September and Autumn has arrived at the chateau. The walled garden is in full swing with the fruit and vegetables almost ready to harvest. It’s Dick’s birthday and Angel has treated him to a magical and romantic balloon ride allowing them to see their beloved Chateau in a way they never have before. With winter just around the corner, Dick and Angel are up against the clock to complete the renovation work on the granny flat for Angels parents. While Angel puts some personal touches to the new granny flat, Dick has been told of a local distiller who can turn his pears into ‘Eau du Vie.’

Episode 3 - Episode 3

Dick and Angel are battening down the hatches for winter. The kids break for the Autumn holidays and there are school reports to be read. Work also begins on the exterior of the chateau. Much of the stucco work is pulling away from the stones underneath, which has created serious problems with damp getting in and cracks through the building. They’ve been putting it off, but the wall that suffers the most weather damage has to be dealt with – or at least patched up. Time for Steve and Dick to make a start and for that they need a cherry picker.
