Season 3 Episode Guide

Episode 1 - Wakefield

In this episode Anita visits Wakefield in Yorkshire to learn about the horrific murder of Wendy Speakes in 1994. This was a crime committed by a murderer with a unique calling card, a fetish for shoes, and it was one the Police feared could be a case of a killer just getting started.

Episode 2 - Wigan

Anita visits the Murdertown of Wigan to uncover the details of 15-year-old school girl Louise Sellars' untimely death in the Summer of 1995. This is a crime that shocked the village of Appley Bridge, where Louise disappeared from. It wasn't just the nature of the crime that had the community scared, it was also the knowledge the prime suspect was living right on their doorstep.

Episode 3 - Milton Keynes

In the year 2000 the body of Rachel Manning was found in woodland just outside of Milton Keynes. Anita visits the Buckinghamshire town to uncover the details of this complex murder case where two men were found guilty and then acquitted of the crime six years later in a shocking miscarriage of justice.

Episode 4 - Oxford

Ascott Under Wychwood is a small idyllic village on the outskirts of Oxford. Anita visits what is an unlikely location for a murder, but in 1995 it was the scene of a shocking crime as the badly beaten body of Vikki Thompson was found lying next to the train tracks. A suspect was quickly identified and arrested but was found not guilty at his trial.

Episode 5 - Wishaw

Wishaw is a small town in North Lanarkshire nestled between Edinburgh and Glasgow where in 2011 the badly burnt remains of a young girl were found in an area known to the locals as Monkey Hill. The remains were those of 17-year-old local college student Zoe Nelson.

Episode 6 - Southampton

20 miles west of Southampton lies the peaceful village of Beaulieu in the New Forest and in 2014 this was the unlikely location for a murder when the body of Pennie Davis was found in the middle of a field where she rode horses.

Episode 7 - Leicester

In 2017, 72-year-old Jane Hings was found raped and murdered in her own home in the village of Fleckney just outside Leicester. This horrific crime saw the Police act fast, using all the tools at their disposal, include CCTV and DNA analysis to track the killer down.

Episode 8 - Lichfield

Lichfield in Staffordshire is one of the smallest cities in the UK and in 1998 it was the centre of a missing person's case when 40-year-old local woman Wendy Upton vanished without a trace. With the Police unable to locate Wendy the case turned from a missing person to a murder investigation and in 1999 a body was finally found just metres from where Wendy was last seen.

Episode 9 - Whitby

Whitby in North Yorkshire of one of the UK's most popular seaside destinations but in April 2012 it was the scene of a horrific crime when 50-year-old Julie Davison was found murdered in her own home. Anita travels to Whitby to learn all about this tragic case and how the Police quickly learnt that this wasn't the first time the killer had struck.

Episode 10 - Bath

In 1984 17-year-old Melanie Road was raped and murdered just metres from her home in Bath when she was returning from a night out. Anita visits this historic location to investigate a case that remained unsolved for over 30 years but was finally cracked thanks to the dedication of a team of Police officers who wouldn't give up.
