Episode 1 - Serial Killer

Plagued by gambling debts, tax troubles, and a psychotic ex-girlfriend, criminal defense lawyer Keegan Deane (Greg Kinnear) represents a notorious serial killer who’s recanted his confession, threatening to bring down the storied LAPD detective who put him behind bars ten years earlier.

Episode 2 - A Close Shave

As he’s representing a trio of young Amish men who attacked a church elder, Keegan (Greg Kinnear) uses Scarlet (Necar Zadegan) and Ben’s (John Ortiz) recommitment ceremony to woo an attractive car service driver with a penchant for older men.

Episode 3 - Cancer

While defending a mother with a severe gambling addiction (Annie Mumolo), Keegan (Greg Kinnear) scrambles to make up for causing skateboarding legend Tony Hawk to cancel his appearance at a school fundraiser.

Episode 4 - Cannibal

In the wake of his father’s death, Ben (John Ortiz) enlists Keegan Deane (Greg Kinnear) to take over the defense of a prominent Los Angeles city government advisor accused of murder and cannibalism.

Episode 5 - Bigamist

Keegan (Greg Kinnear) exploits the judge and prosecutor’s rocky divorce in his defense of a prominent restaurant owner charged with bigamy. As Mikki (Bojana Novakovic) seeks help fending off a vindictive ex-client, personal and professional problems plague Scarlet (Necar Zadegan) and Ben (John Ortiz).

Episode 6 - Jury Tamperer

Keegan (Greg Kinnear) and a prosecutor each set out to lose the case of a mother who’s confessed to jury tampering in an effort to overturn her daughter’s murder conviction. Mikki (Bojana Novakovic) asks Keegan not to ruin her romance with a rival lawyer as Maddy (Miranda Otto) tries to end his influence over their teenage son.

Episode 7 - Three Strikes

An old acquaintance from AA turns to Keegan (Greg Kinnear) for help as he faces life in prison for a robbery he didn’t commit.

Episode 8 - Staple Holes

Ben takes over the law firm after the death of his father and hires Keegan, who manages to win his first case despite being completely unprepared for it, but he doesn't get the reaction he expected from the partners. Meanwhile, Leanne wants to be on Keegan's staff at Ben's firm; Bruce can't accept the fact that Maddy broke up with him; Scarlet rethinks the launch of her campaign for DA; and a new wrinkle develops in Keegan's relationship with the mayor's wife.

Episode 9 - Hey, Good Looking

While representing an artist who’s been arrested for murdering her husband, Keegan (Greg Kinnear) must defend his own reputation when the police and the public suspect him in the death of Mayor Barzmann.

Episode 10 - 50 Shades of Gay

As Keegan (Greg Kinnear) tries to keep a longtime client’s sexual secrets out of the news, Scarlet (Necar Zadegan) squares off with the new mayor (Kim Hawthorne) for her endorsement to be the next district attorney.

Episode 11 - Remembrance of Taxis Past

As a key endorsement for Scarlet’s (Necar Zadegan) campaign is jeopardized by an aging ex-governor’s arrest, David Potter’s (David Harbour) entry into the race places Keegan (Greg Kinnear) is a difficult spot when Ben (John Ortiz) asks him to expose Mikki’s (Bojana Novakovic) past.

Episode 12 - A Man's Best Friend

As Keegan (Greg Kinnear) defends a well respected doctor who is caught in a very kinky video, an FBI investigation into Ben’s (John Ortiz) firm threatens to derail Scarlet’s (Necar Zadegan) campaign. Guest starring Kim Hawthorne and Pamela Adlon.
