Trivia: Reached the third round of auditions for the Sound of Music at the age of 8, but lost the part when she spoke in her natural Essex accent. Trivia: Left school at 17 and worked in a tax office in Liverpool. Worked in a music store owned by Beatles manager Brian Epstein's family, and as a result, was friendly with the Beatles. Suffered from bulimia as a teenager, and deals with the topic in her autobiography entitled Things I Couldn't Tell My Mother. Was sexually attacked in 1970. Published her first book, a memoir entitled Hold on to the Messy Times, in 1989. In 2009, was appointed an OBE (an Officer of the Order of the British Empire). Has campaigned on behalf of the Labour Party and for gay rights. Supports Liverpool FC and St Helens RFC. Was awarded an honorary doctorate in 2010 by the University of Chester at Chester Cathedral.

Trivia: Adopted at birth by middle-class teachers. Knew he wanted to become an actor while in primary school. Honed his acting chops with Britain's National Youth Theatre. Pursued stand-up comedy for a time during his college years. Joined the amateur theatrical Footlights Dramatic Club while at Cambridge. Discovered by British theatrical-film director Peter Hall, who spotted him in a Footlights production of Macbeth opposite Hall's daughter Rebecca. Editor-at-large for the Junket, an online quarterly magazine. Writes a column for the Sunday Telegraph (a British newspaper).

Trivia: British stage and film actor Corin Redgrave is the son of theatrical luminaries Michael Redgrave and Rachel Kempson, and the brother of actors Vanessa and Lynn Redgrave. He first embarked upon the "family business" while attending Cambridge, acting in productions staged by the Marlowe Society. He made his professional stage debut in 1963, and appeared in his first film in 1966, playing William Roper in the Oscar-winning A Man for All Seasons. Among his myriad of stage credits was Alan Ayckbourn's comic trilogy The Norman Conquests, in which he starred as the bed-hopping Norman. Easing comfortably into character roles in his fifties, Corin Redgrave was recently seen as Hamish in the runaway movie hit 4 Weddings and a Funeral (1993).
