Episode 1 - Castrovalva, Episode 1

The first appearance of Peter Davison as the Doctor. The universe has been saved, but at the cost of the fourth Doctor's life. The newly-regenerated fifth Doctor must rely on his friends to survive as the regeneration threatens to fail. Adric has been captured by the Master, who is taking advantage of the Doctor's weakened state to ensnare him in an elaborate trap which threatens to destroy his mind.

Following the advice of the First Doctor, the Third Doctor and Jo have crossed through the black hole to the strange, desolate world of antimatter. The Second Doctor is left to figure out how to neutralize the dangerous anti-matter creature.

The Doctor discovers that the alien is a Sontaran warrior called Linx who is trying to repair his spaceship. Sarah is convinced that the Doctor is responsible for the abductions.

The TARDIS arrives on Earth in the middle of a meteorite shower and the Doctor is found by UNIT troops and taken to a nearby hospital. The Brigadier is faced with having to cope not only with the mysterious meteorites but also with Ransome, an ex-employee of a local plastics factory, who claims he has seen a walking mannequin. The meteorites turn out to be hollow globes containing the Nestene consciousness, a disembodied alien intelligence with an affinity for plastic. A Nestene agent, Channing, has infiltrated the plastics factory and is using energy from the globes to animate Autons - mannequin-like figures and realistic replicas of senior establishment figures - with the aim of colonizing the Earth.

     

Episode 2 - Frontios, Episode 2

The Doctor, still trying to come to terms with the loss of the TARDIS, is surrounded by an impromptu firing squad of Orderlies. Norna stands in the line of fire, pointing out that even if the Doctor is an invader he will at least know why the colony is under attack. But the Doctor needs to come up with answers, and quickly!

The grief-stricken Nyssa flees back to the TARDIS, where Damon learns that his repairs have been to no avail. Meanwhile, President Borusa confirms that all trace of the Creature has been expunged from the Matrix, or so it appears. In fact, the Creature is still very much in control - and the Doctor is alive!

England, the near future. Professor Thascales' TOMTIT project is nearing completion... but why is a simple matter transmitter causing disruption to the flow of time? And what exactly is Kronos, the time monster itself?

The Doctor and his companions arrive on a large Ark in space and attempt to assist the residents. Unfortunately, they fall seriously ill with a common cold; a virus to which they've never been exposed before. The simple creatures who were servants in the past have revolted and seized control of the Ark. Soon a plot to destroy the Ark and all its human inhabitants is exposed, but can they find the bomb in time?

The fossilised hand has regenerated into a Kastrian called Eldrad who appears to be female, having modelled his form on Sarah Jane. He persuades the Doctor to take him back to Kastria, so that he might reclaim his heritage. When they arrive, they find Kastria dead. Its king has destroyed the race banks should Eldrad return. Eldrad is pierced by a spear when entering an elevator.

The meteorites turn out to be hollow globes containing the Nestene consciousness, a disembodied alien intelligence with an affinity for plastic. A Nestene agent, Channing, has infiltrated the plastics factory and is using energy from the globes to animate Autons - mannequin-like figures and realistic replicas of senior establishment figures - with the aim of colonizing the Earth.

The Doctor and Sarah Jane trip up Eldrad with the Doctor's scarf and he falls into a chasm and dies. Back in the TARDIS, the Doctor receives a telepathic message from the Gallifrey and sadly, leaves Sarah Jane on Earth after a hasty, unexpected goodbye.

The Gravis seems to know the Doctor by reputation, and is intrigued when Tegan inadvertently reveals that they travelled to Frontios by TARDIS. As the Tractators have been marooned on Frontios for centuries, the Gravis is obsessed with any means of travel.
