Season 3 Episode Guide

Episode 1 - Grandpoppa Don't Take No Mess

Moesha tries to get sympathy from her visiting grandfather over having to go to a new school. Frank must deal with his lifelong jealousy over his brother Bernie's relationship with their father.

  

Episode 2 - Labor Day Jammy

Mo's new school's annual fundraiser conflicts with Crenshaw High's final summer blowout "Freaknik", and Frank and Dee insist Mo should attend the fundraiser. While at the fund-raiser, Mo befriends another student, Hayley, and the two of them sneak off to Crenshaw.

  

Episode 3 - Day One

Mo attends the first day at her new school and is miserable. She has only made one friend and feels out of place. On the second day she ditches to see her friends at Crenshaw. However, they're all busy with their own classes and have no time to visit. When Mo gets home, Dee knows she's ditched school, and Hayley stops by to make sure she's okay. Mo begrudgingly returns to the new school.

  

Episode 4 - Age Ain't Nothing

Hakeem begins to date an older woman he meets at his store. Hakeem manages to keep this a secret from Mo and the Mitchells, but can't help bragging to his buddies. Mo finds out and convinces him he isn't quite ready for a romance with an older woman.

  

Episode 5 - My Mom's Not An Ottoman

Dee wins a free decorating consultation at Mo's school raffle and can't wait to redo the house. Mo is also enthusiastic until she realizes that redecorating also means losing many of her mother's things in the house. After a conversation with Hakeem, Mo realizes that the memories of her mother will always be with her.

  

Episode 6 - The Play Scene

Mo writes a scene from a play set in a Blues Lounge in the 1940s for her English class, and our cast acts it out for us.

  

Episode 7 - Use Me Once - Shame On You - Use Me Twice I'll Kill Ya

Mo tells her friends at the Den that Hayley's dad is an important record executive. In order to get closer with Q, Mo suggests he do a set at the Den and she'll invite Hayley to get to her dad. When Hayley discovers the real reason she is invited, she feels used. Meanwhile, Frank convinces Dee to participate in a Saturn golf tournament.

  

Episode 8 - Keepin' It Real

Mo is attracted to a classmate she is working with on a project. When they finally go out on a date, he's not who she thought he was. Dee insists the rest of the family help out with housework and chores.

  

Episode 9 - Halloween Part 1 - Kim's Revenge

Mo, Kim and Niecy decide to dress as "The Women of Batman" for Halloween. However, Kim accidentally overhears Mo and Niecy make fun of Kim trying to fit into the costume.

  

Episode 10 - Rhythm & Dues

Mo encourages CPQ to submit their latest song to the local radio station for their "play it or stuff it" segment. When the song is played, it is well received. Q has written lyrics over a Morris Day song, and Morris shows up at "The Hole" where Q is performing, to read him the riot act. Ultimately, CPQ and Morris perform together.

  

Episode 11 - Break It Down

Frank takes Hakeem to the father/son "lock-in" at the local church, to encourage open communication and trust between fathers and sons. Q and his father, and "Ray J" and his father also attend. During the exercises, Frank sees a different side of Q. When Q shows up at the Mitchell house with a Watchman that Frank left behind, Frank invites Q inside.

  

Episode 12 - The Double Date

Mo has been dating Bridgewood classmate Jeremy since her break up with Q. She has especially been looking forward to their upcoming date at the House of Blues. However, when they get to the club, it is so crowded they unexpectedly end up at the same table as Q and his date.

  

Episode 13 - Talk to the Town

Mo organizes a Town Hall meeting when local merchants and neighbors threaten to shut down the Bomb Bay because of the young noisy crowds.

  

Episode 14 - He Ain't Heavy. He's Dee's Brother

Mo gets a crush on Dee's very attractive younger brother when he comes to visit. Despite Dee's warnings that he is somewhat of a "rolling stone" and an opportunist, Mo gets herself and her friends involved in a business venture of his.

  

Episode 15 - The Short Story

Mo's group at the Den includes a short kid known as "Biggie". When he seeks Mo's advise on how to approach and ask out the girl of his dreams, she tells him to go for it. Unfortunately, Mo's the girl and he wants to take her to a big event. She is faced with the dilemma of getting teased or hurting his feelings. She takes the high road and goes on the date, only to discover he's a dog.

  

Episode 16 - It's My Paper And I'll Cry If I Want To

Mo decides to publish her own Bridgewood newspaper when editor Mary Ellen refuses to add her to the staff of the existing paper. Rather than doing "fluff", Mo's paper deals with issues and a number of Mary Ellen's staff defects to Mo.

  

Episode 17 - She's Back

A famous female broadcast journalist who used to be friends with Frank speaks at Bridgewood, so Mo invites her to their house for dinner. When Mo learns they used to date, she soon suspects her of putting the moves on Frank, and confronts her in front of her class.

  

Episode 18 - Model Employee

Rather than asking Frank every time she wants something, Mo decides to get a part time job at the Class Act where Hakeem works. She works out very well, but is taken advantage of by the new female manager, being made to work many more hours than expected.

  

Episode 19 - Mo's Money, Mo's Money, Mo's Money,

Moesha wants to get cable and her own phone now that she has a job and is making money. When she heads down to the local rent a center (at Kim's suggestion), she's talked into everything from a microwave to a big screen TV for an absurdly low price. The kids love Mo's room and start spending more time there than at the den.

  

Episode 20 - This Time You've Gone Too Far

Mo, Kim, Hakeem, Niecy, Morgan, Marco and Chris head off on a road trip to San Diego, but when Mo realizes Tijuana is just a few exits away, she convinces the somewhat reluctant group to cross the border and party.

  

Episode 21 - Body Language

Mo, Kim and Niecy play a game of "Truth or Dare". When Mo is asked if she and Hakeem ever kissed, she answers "Dare", rather than answer the question. The girls dare each other to get a tattoo or have a body part pierced.

  

Episode 22 - Pajama Jam

Mo asks Frank if she can go to a slumber party at Morgan's house. He agrees not knowing it will be a co-ed party (including older college boys) without parental supervision. When Mary Ellen's mother tells Dee and Frank about the party, Frank goes to Hayley's house and drags Mo from the party, embarrassing her in front of her friends.

     

Episode 23 - A House Is Not A Home

Moesha is living with Andell after having moved out of Frank & Dee's home. Although she's paying minimal rent, she begins to understand the difficulties of surviving on one's own in the world.
