Season 5 Episode Guide

Episode 1 - Abby

Ray begins court-ordered anger management after a family tragedy sparks a bar fight. Mickey, Bunchy and Daryll prepare for Terry and Maureen’s wedding. Bridget looks up a mysterious acquaintance in New York. Conor, also away from home for the first time, grows accustomed to military school. Meanwhile, Samantha Winslow, a powerful new employer, comes into Ray’s life.

  

Episode 2 - Las Vegas

A flashback to Ray and Abby’s twenty-first wedding anniversary when they went to Las Vegas to see Damon’s first televised fight. In the present, A-list movie star Natalie James hires Ray to protect her from an abusive husband/manager, which draws him deeper into Samantha Winslow’s web. Hopes for a beautiful day are dashed at Terry and Maureen’s wedding as tensions flare between the Donovans and the Dohertys.

     

Episode 3 - Dogwalker

Ray cleans up Natalie’s mess after she shot her husband. At home, he struggles to reconnect with his own family and complete anger management. Unable to reach Maureen after their split, Terry visits Conor at military school. Mickey anticipates good news on his script, but a surprise visit from Frank Barnes threatens to sink him back into a life of violence. Bunchy happens upon the business opportunity of his lifetime to provide for Teresa and Maria.

  

Episode 4 - Sold

Mickey's screenwriting dreams stall out - until he's pulled into a gruesome fix for Daryll's movie star client. Abby starts construction on the new bar while Ray searches for a solution to their problem. Terry tries to win back Maureen one last time; Bunchy's quest for financial independence gets derailed; and Bridget tells her boyfriend who her father really is.

  

Episode 5 - Shabbos Goy

Ray’s court-ordered therapy is at odds with a high-stakes power struggle between Winslow and her opponents. At Frank’s behest, Mickey seeks out an old friend of the Donovan's. Terry takes Damon to NY to train for an upcoming fight. Bunchy is desperately trying to get back what was taken from him when he’s confronted by sins of Donovan past. Bridget tries to reconcile with Smitty, until a major crisis forces them together.

  

Episode 6 - Shelley Duvall

Abby makes a shocking decision that reverberates throughout the family. Ray runs interference for Natalie, while Winslow shows him the lengths she’ll go to protect her own empire. Bunchy’s fortunes turn when he sees a familiar face in jail. In his attempt to free Bunchy, Mickey finds himself caught in the middle of someone else’s war. Terry visits with Bridget, and through Smitty, the two discover a truth that shakes Terry to his core.

  

Episode 7 - If I Should Fall from Grace with God

For Bunchy’s sake, Ray is forced to step in and save Mickey from himself.  Terry returns to LA with a devastating confession.  Daryll and Mickey butt heads over the direction of their movie.  Bunchy helps out a fellow inmate, on the condition that he’ll help retrieve the settlement money.  A Donovan is forced to take extreme measure to protect the family.

  

Episode 8 - Horses

Abby’s last days are revealed. A last ditch medical trial sends Ray on a dark mission in New York. Alone in LA, Abby turns to Terry and Bridget to help her make the toughest decision of her life.

  

Episode 9 - Mister Lucky

Natalie’s fame puts Ray’s career in jeopardy when, for the first time ever, he becomes the story.  Ray hunts down the source of Winslow’s problems.  Mickey and Daryll celebrate the greenlight on their movie – but still, Mickey asks for more.  Terry prepares to leave the Fite Club behind for good.  Bunchy gets in over his head while trying to track down his money.  Bridget takes Smitty’s problem into her own hands.

  

Episode 10 - Bob the Builder

Ray and Terry put their differences aside to try and fix Bunchy’s problem once and for all.  In the wake of a Hollywood tragedy, Ray turns on Winslow, consequences be damned.  Mickey’s caught in a rock-hard place.  Jay asks for a secret meeting with Daryll to decide the future of the movie and their relationship.  Bridget’s last-ditch effort to save Smitty lands her in the last place she ever thought she’d be.

     

Episode 11 - Michael

Ray searches for Frank Barnes in an attempt to get Bridget out of jail. Terry, in New York, deals with the return of Damon’s father, and then, at Bridget’s request, takes care of Smitty. Back in LA, Bunchy is hit with a heartbreaking confession from Teresa.

  

Episode 12 - Time Takes a Cigarette

Ray goes to New York to arrange an illicit surgery that will hopefully save Smitty’s life. Winslow agrees to help, but on the condition that Ray commit a brutal act. Mickey tries to get himself out of jail by turning the tables on Ray. Meanwhile, Daryll struggles with his loyalty to Mickey.
